Topic on Forum:Short Term Projects

This is the current Table of Contents from the article Unacceptable Targets. What do you think is wrong with it?

Trick question! There are at least THREE things wrong with this picture.
First, the Admins of TV Tropes are listed as unacceptable targets, right next to the deceased, tragedy survivors, and people who risk their lives for others. You've got to have a pretty fuckin' big ego to say you're just as above criticism as a goddamn WAR HERO. Never mind that they list themselves ABOVE Mr. Rogers, also deceased, and a far better person than Fast Eddie could ever conceive of being.
Second, listed after real people are fictional works. FICTIONAL WORKS. Not the creators of said fictional works, who may also fall into one of the above legitimate categories, but the works themselves. I know Yotsuba is only 5 years old, but she's still fucking fictional.
Third is Pets. I should clarify that the section refers specifically to the abuse and murder of animals, which is a serious topic. What I take umbrage with is the fact that it is placed AFTER the fictional works. Nice to see TV Tropes has its priorities in order.

If you got the answer at least partially correct, then congratulations! You're smarter and wiser than most of the editors of the page back on TV Tropes.

Snark aside, this page is full of problems, and they need to be promptly addressed. What I mentioned above is the most egregious, but there are still many more which need to be taken care of. And there's also the fact that related pages are sure to have these problems as well.

No kidding. Seriously, you have to have a massive big ego to be this anal about being a target.

In fact, it's downright pathetic. As the founder of this wiki, I'm a legitimate target for whatever goes wrong here, especially if it's a result of my own incompetence or fault, so for the TV Tropes admins to put themselves on a pedestal is just the summit of arrogance.

I approve of any measure you can take to remove this TVT related ego stroking on this page, and any other pages that have this problem.

It's a bit of Celestial Emporium of Benevolent Knowledge. The nonsensical list asks for giving it a sensible structure... but this involves mentally trying to fit 1.6 under various other categories. Go on, try them all, one by one.

I understand that. I made this thread, after all. I was actually expressing confusion over what your link to the Girl Genius webcomic has to do with your post, or this subject in general.

Hmmmmm... Some but not all religious figures are listed, some but not all well-loved celebrities are listed... Somebody didn't think things through. If it was my call, I'd delete everything on that page between "Examples of Unacceptable Targets include:" and "Really, anyone (and anything) in some places". I might put some of the specific cases back, but I'd also include the old line about sacred cows making the best hamburger.

And the statement on the Main Page about the only censorship at ATT being what is legally required does not mesh well with the concept of Unacceptable Targets.

So... I guess a problem with the "Unacceptable Targets" page is that it exists at all.
