I want to add the text itself to the wiki, and while I have the commented-out instructions in the boilerplate that loaded, I have no idea if there's anything in the Style Guides for dealing with this.

Not really, mainly because most if not all source sections have been added by the wiki staff up to now. I guess the rules of thumb to follow would be

  • Make sure you use (or convert to) proper markup
  • Break large works up into individual chapters/pages all hanging off a "table of contents" page

That's all that occurs to me at the moment, but I'll CC in the rest of the admin team to see if anyone has anything else to add.

The quick-and-dirty method: wrap "poem" tags around the text and put a cleanup tag at the top of the page saying that it needs formatting. This is pretty much what we did with the earliest Source pages.

The better way: mark up the text as @Looney Toons described above. This is quite acceptable.

The best way, in my opinion, but also the most work: format all of the text, put the headers into header markup, and add pictures where they exist in the Project Gutenberg copy of the work.

Quick-and-dirty method employed, cleanup tag applied. Thank you both for your advice - I'll be aiding in the efforts to make the text navigable and presentable, of course.

You're welcome -- and good luck!
