* [[Backed by the Pentagon]]: Somewhat odd, considering almost every Decepticon from the first film was a military machine, and the Pentagon typically doesn't support scripts that make the military look bad. The fact that the US Armed Forces kick a considerable amount of ass in all three movies, and the movie producers pointing out that the Decepticons picked US military machinery because it kicked the most ass, is what convinced them to sign on. |

- Actor Allusion:
- Crosses into You Look Familiar in the first movie; Sam meets Bobby Bolivia to buy his first car, and Bobby says "that practically makes us family", alluding to both their previous roles in Charlie's Angels Full Throttle.
- John Turturro's previous role in You Don't Mess With the Zohan has him owning a restaurant after leaving his previous job (terrorist leader in Zohan and government agent in ROTF).
- In ROTF Shia Lebouf is chased through a library, visits important archaeological sites and finds out that aliens were involved in ancient human history.
- This is not the first time Shia has had to battle murderous robots
- Also in ROTF, Megatron tortures Sam and has a mechanical bug burrow into Sam's body. Squick ensues.
- In DOTM, Sentinel Prime states that the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.
- Also, counting as Foreshadowing as well, Wheelie watches on episode of Star Trek: The Original Series in Sam and Carly's apartment and says; "I've seen this one. This the one where Spock goes nuts". Hinting at Sentinel Prime's later betrayal.
- Dutch, played by Alan Tudyk, has a suppressed personality buried within him that has a violent streak.
- Wheeljack/Que in DOTM has a face that resembles Albert Einstein. His voice actor, George Coe, once voiced Einstein in Celebrity Deathmatch.
- Sam affectionadely calls Carly "Angel". Rosie Huntington-Whiteley rose to fame as a Victoria's Secret Angel.
- Backed by the Pentagon: Somewhat odd, considering almost every Decepticon from the first film was a military machine, and the Pentagon typically doesn't support scripts that make the military look bad. The fact that the US Armed Forces kick a considerable amount of ass in all three movies, and the movie producers pointing out that the Decepticons picked US military machinery because it kicked the most ass, is what convinced them to sign on.
- The Danza: Glenn Morshower as General Morshower in ROTF and DOTM.
- Dawson Casting: Shia LaBeouf was 19-20 while filming and Megan Fox was 19, both playing high school juniors. The only thing that makes this worthy of note is that Bay mentioned that he was initially not interested in LaBeouf because in his movies immediately prior he had grown a goatee, making him look too old to play a teenager. Seeing him clean shaven convinced him otherwise.
- Reality Subtext: Bumblebee vs. Barricade: Chevy Camaro vs. Ford Mustang.
