The Protagonist

True name: Hakuno Kishinami

Winner of the Moon Cell Holy Grail War, gender chosen by the player. He/she has been split in three, with their mind remaining the master of Nero, the soul that of Tamano, and the body being held captive by Altera.

• Always Save the Girl: Each version comes out of the regalia to defend their servant at least once.
• Amnesiac Dissonance: They are left quite distraught by the deaths of Tamamo and Nero in Altera's route, though they can't remember why.
• Amnesiac Hero: Has to have Nero or Tamamo explain who they are, as Hakuno can only recall their feelings towards the other servants.
• Chick Magnet: Somehow wins the hearts of a Roman Emperor, a fox demon, and an alien born to destroy, to say nothing of the implication that others - like the idol and potential serial killer Bathory - may also be attracted to them.
• Heroic Mime: Does speak, although their dialogue is frequently chosen and their lines are never voiced.
• Laser-Guided Amnesia: Thanks to the split, each Hakuno is missing various parts of their memories.
• Literal Split Personality: Their mind, soul, and body are all divided and loyal to their respective servants. In the final route, their soul and mind reunite into one.
• Living on Borrowed Time: If the mind and soul aren't reunited, they will die before long. Nero discovers this the hard way in her route.
• Ripple-Effect-Proof Memory: In the true route, Hakuno retains memories of Altera's route.

Nero Claudius

The former Emperor of Rome and Saber-class servant of Hakuno Kishinami. Her goal is to take over the Moon Cell from Tamano, and to return Hakuno to normal following his body split.

• Always Save the Girl: Gender-flipped with Male Hakuno, but played straight with Female Hakuno. Regardless of their gender, it is clear that protecting Hakuno is Nero's first priority.
• Attention Whore: Gets quite upset whenever she's not the center of attention, especially when it comes to Hakuno.
• Battle Couple: With Hakuno.
• Converse with the Unconscious: Her route ends with her speaking to Hakuno, though she is aware he is comatose and can't reply. She promises to guard him anyways.
• Happily Married: Word of God states that Extella follows the ending of CCC in which Hakuno and Nero wed. Nero isn't exactly happy to have Tamamo around, though.
• Heroic BSOD: She's pretty broken up in the ending of her route, with Hakuno stuck in a coma of sorts.
• Holding Hands: How she describes the sensation of wearing the regalia with Hakuno inside.
• Interrupted Intimacy: Whenever she tries to move in on Haku in the true route, Tamamo will intervene.
• Lap Pillow: Has such a moment with Hakuno's head in her lap once or twice.
• Large Ham: Can be very dramatic whenever she is ignored.

But when you, who should be my beloved audience, storm my stage and steal my show...O' misery! My heart is rent in two!

• Ruling Couple: Unlike Tamamo, who is assertive towards Hakuno, and Altera, who treats him/her as a pet, Nero is content in sharing power over her Moon Cell empire.
• Stripperific: Her Saber Venus form is even more revealing than Altera, who is already basically in her underwear.

Tamamo-no-Mae

Caster-class servant. She is the heroine of the second route, where she seeks to defeat Nero and reunite the Moon Cell under her control. Her dream is to be the ideal wife and mother, and her heart is set on Hakuno for this role.

• Clingy Jealous Girl: More or less relegated to this in the true route, where she doesn't do much after allying with Nero but try to get between Nero and Hakuno.
• Deadpan Snarker: Has her moments.
• Demoted to Extra: Once she and Nero join forces in the true route, Tamamo is left to the sidelines.
• Happily Married: Although her and Hakuno never elope, the ending of her route is treated as such. Given that Hakuno's soul and mind are still separated, however, they may not be happy for long.
• Interrupted Intimacy: Bathory has a habit of crashing in whenever Tamano tries to seduce Hakuno, not that that stops her from trying.
• Lovable Sex Maniac: She's quite persistent and suggestive in her attempts to seduce Hakuno.
• Moment Killer: Interrupts a kiss between Nero and Hakuno in the true route.
• Sickeningly Sweethearts: Her dream is to have this sort of marriage with someone, preferably Hakuno.
• Sugar-and-Ice Personality: Generally quite sweet to Hakuno, but she can be very cruel at times, particularly to Bathory.

Altera

Saber-class servant, and heroine of the third route. She is a servant of the Velber who exists to destroy Earth, whether she likes it or not. Unlike Tamano and Nero, Extella is her first appearance.

• And Your Reward Is Infancy: In the true ending, she is reborn as a child and adopted by Nero and Hakuno.
• Defeat Means Friendship: How she recruits Iskandar.
• Extreme Doormat: Functions as an agent of Velber without much freedom, although she does have her own feelings.
• Literal Split Personality: Her giant form and her heroic form. They're technically the same person, though they act extremely differently.
• Stripperific: Her clothes don't really cover much.
• Sugar-and-Ice Personality: Her giant form tends to be the more kind-hearted and emotional side, while her heroic form is more cold and calculating.
• What Is This Thing You Call Love?: A big part of her arc is her learning to think of her own desires through her attachment to Hakuno.
