Kobold Adventure is an adult text-based adventure game written by TinkeringTurian, originally released in 2015 and re-released in 2017. Like the title says, you play the role of a small kobold in a medieval fantasy world, filled with humans and various anthros, where kobolds officially have no rights and are seen as a lesser species. As a result, you resorted to thievery in order to survive. Over the course of a few months, despite your best efforts, you've racked up a significant amount of debt to the Three-Tailed Rat Clan, an organized gang of ruthless thugs. Out of desperation, you decided to steal from one of the king's highly secure money transports, and managed to succeed.

From there, a whole world of possibilities open up. This is where your adventure begins.

As of 2020, the game has over 700,000 words worth of content and is still in development, with updates at least once every two weeks.

It can be found and played online here. Be mindful that the game is highly NSFW at times, and certain sections have NSFW images as well, though you do have the option to hide them in the settings. This includes but is not limited to: sex, rape, drugs, prostitution, extortion, violence, death, gore, filth, slavery, and hand-holding.

On February 2020, a side project was released by the name of "Heavy Scales, Lonesome Roads." It is a adult, linear, text-based webcomic set in the same universe as Kobold Adventure, but more than a thousand years after the events of the game. It follows the story of a kobold bounty hunter in a post-apocalyptic world, who is on a mission to clear their name and to get revenge on a group of bandits after they left them for dead. It can be found here. The same warnings from the main game also apply here, so be wary of that.

Tropes used in Kobold Adventure include:
  • Adventure Game
  • A Date With Rosie Palms: You can choose to do this at various points.
  • All There in the Manual: A good chunk of the characters that you interact with have their own character sheets that entails a list of their stats and other information such as their backstories and details about the game's setting. There is a warning that some of the information may contain spoilers, along with certain things that the player may not be able to find through the game itself.
  • Bigger Is Better in Bed: You can take MPlus or BigBoy potions to enlarge your dick. While this is played straight for the most part, it does have limits. For instance, if you opt to have sex with the blue kobold in the third morning of the Varanar route and your dick is too big, she simply won't be able to take your size and will instead give you a blowjob.
  • Bittersweet Ending: One of the endings of the Farmer's Maid route. After being sold to a farm, being branded and having your teeth and claws forcibly removed (and changed into a girl if you were a guy), and forced to work as a maid for around a year, you can decide to stay with Falco and raise your baby together as a happy family. In the process, however, Falco's father dies under suspicious conditions and his mother moves back with her parents grieving for his death, leaving the two all alone with their child. Considering the stigma against kobolds, they will also inevitably face heavy discrimination in the future.
  • Breast Expansion: Drinking the FemPlus or BigGirl potions while you're female will result in this.
  • Brother-Sister Incest: If you're female when you're having sex with Ruby, she'll mention how she gave head to her sister, Saphira, once. She'll catch herself and try to deny it if your charisma isn't high enough.
  • But You Screw One Goat: Play your cards right and you can, ahem, assert dominance with the basilisk in the underground cave. Even if it is forcing itself on you, you can choose to like it.
  • Caught With Their Pants Down: When you walk into Rolande's store, you'll catch him pleasuring himself behind the counter. He doesn't really care too much, though. Kai will also decide to masturbate, unaware of your presence, if you decide to either watch or sneak up on him.
  • Everyone Is Bi: Almost every sex scene in the game is available regardless of what gender you are with only two exceptions so far: the blue kobold you meet in the third morning of the Varanar route (who will always be the opposite gender of you) and Falco in the Farmer's Maid route (since you were changed into a girl if you were a guy.)
  • Fantastic Racism: Plentiful, to put it mildly. It's not just restricted to kobolds either.
  • Gender Bender: If you're willing to pay the coins, you can buy potions at the various shops to make yourself more masculine or feminine, some of them even turning you into a different gender outright. With the right potions, you can also become a cuntboy.
  • Hello, Insert Name Here: While your name defaults to 'Moe', you can change it to anything you want at the beginning.
  • Interactive Fiction
  • Jerkass: A few of the characters definitely qualifies. You can play one as well if you so choose.
  • Kleptomaniac Hero: You are a thief, but you can go through the game without stealing anything outside of the coins at the beginning. Just be sure that you don't get caught whenever you do, though.
  • Multiple Endings: Currently, the game has 24 different endings, around half of which involve you dying in some manner.
  • Rape Leads to Insanity: Downplayed. While getting raped will lower your sanity meter by a large portion, you'll never suffer from any sanity slippage in game.
  • Reality Ensues: While you can drink potions to improve your stats and some of the choices you make can also raise them, you are still a kobold, a species that is half the height of an average human, and untrained in combat. Whenever you win a struggle, it's usually a result of your opponents either being caught by surprise, not being much stronger than you, happening to be alone, or some combination of the three. Trying to fight against someone who knows what they're doing or when they're with a group will go exactly as well as you'd expect. Some good examples include trying to fight Fenrir or the Ten-Paw Gang in the forest.
  • Sanity Meter: Pretty much any good or bad thing that happens to you affects it. How much of it increases or decreases depends on the severity of the action.
  • Schmuck Bait: You can meet Cassidy, the owner of the breeding farm, inside of the barn. Upon meeting her, the first thing she'll do is offer to have sex with you even though you just met. Guess what happens if you choose to accept on the spot.
    • Another instance of this can be seen in the fourth morning of the Varanar route if you choose to shop around. Amongst the various items you can purchase is a pregnancy potion that the salesman claims will, well, make you pregnant. How much does the potion cost? 330 coins. With none of the other items being nearly as expensive. Yeah, totally not a scam.
  • Ungrateful Bitch: Ruby is this if you return her locket and your charisma stat is average or below.
    • Blue and Red are also this if you kill Tychus and freed the kobolds afterwards, with Red dislocating one of your bones if you choose to accept her 'aftercare' offer. Though in Blue's case, she may be more upset with you causing Green to have a mental breakdown over his master's death, but still. This is averted if you knocked out Tychus instead.
  • Video Game Cruelty Potential: Not only can you buy the male kobold slave and separate him from his pregnant sister, you can also rape him immediately after.
