Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman/Trivia
- Executive Meddling: There were fights between the writers, the execs, and the fans as to whether Lois and Clark would tie the knot in the show. The results were not pretty.
- Also a good example of Pandering to the Base by the fourth season. The fandom, specifically one corner of it, had far too much influence on the show, resulting in the ridiculousness of villain after villain wanting to break them up. You know, instead of actual cases and stories.
- It got so bad the episode they got married was called "Swear to God, This Time We're Not Kidding"
- It also interfered with the comic book marriage which would have originally happened in 1992 but was postponed to coincide with the TV show marriage. The resulting gap in their story arc led the book writers to comment why don't we just kill him. The rest is history.
- Hey, It's That Guy! / Hey, It's That Voice!: Tony Jay has a series-spanning role as Lex Luthor's butler, and of course his famous baritone voice is heard often.
- Lord Nor is played by Simon Templeman, best known for voicing Kain.
- Tasha Yar shows up as doctor working for Lex.
- Jor-El's Hologram is played by none other than Chancellor Gorkon.
- Another Trek alum, General Martok, appears as the head elder of New Krypton.
- We're not done yet. Reginald Barclay plays a loony with a Kill Sat at his command.
- How did nobody mention Tim Lake is Commander Riker?!
- Lenny Stoke is played by Mudoc. Those looking for him to fall off a high place while screaming will be disappointed.
- In a bit of hindsight casting, Michael Mckean plays a younger Perry White on Smallville. He appears on this show as a Mook scientist.
- H.G. Wells is played by Bernie, who looks livelier than usual.
- Until this point, Justin Whalin was best known for playing older Andy in Child's Play 3.
- The Master of Disguise "Anonymous" is played by several actors, before finally being unmasked as...Uncle Joey??
- "Lame Brain" Johnson's mother is Sylvia Fine, in a frighteningly reverse portrayal of her other role.
- Zara is portrayed by Mallory from Family Ties, in a Not-So-Small Role.
- Douglas Brackman went from a lawyer to omnicidal Mad Scientist, but at least he has hair now.
- Leo McGarry pops up as Depraved Kids' Show Host "Mr. Gadget", with Biff as his son/accomplice.
- Lucille Newtrich is Diane.
- John Munch: Well, almost. Richard Belzer appears throughout Season 1 as Inspector Henderson, a jaded cop and sometimes-ally to Clark Kent. In his last appearance, Henderson is shown breaking up Luthor's wedding and placing him under arrest. That's right, John Munch defeats Lex Luthor!
- Retroactive Recognition: Chakotay does a mean Hans Gruber.
- The leader of the Toasters gang is Vulcan Ensign Vorik. His acting style here is basically the Vulcan pon farr taken to its natural conclusion.
- Jimmy Olsen is constantly being stalked by death. ..Not unlike being on this show, come to think of it.
- As for the other Jimmy Olsen, he once saved the world from Jeremy Irons' eyebrows.
- After leaving the Daily Planet, Cat Grant parlayed her years of gossip column experience into commanding a space station.
- Inspector Henderson is initially played by Brent Jennings, better-known as Jive Turkey vampire Mr. Trick (Jennings reprises the role of Henderson in Superman: The Animated Series).
- Ching (that is, the first one) ended up marrying an Earth woman named Brenda.
- Det. Calleigh moonlights as Lana Lang for an episode.
- On that note: Hey, Warrick, nice dreadlocks!
- In Season 2's Christmas Episode, Jimmy Olsen's girl of the week is (fittingly) Dr. Christmas Jones.
- And he follows it up with dating BloodRayne. Seriously, what is it with Jimmy and these women?
- Raymond's brother Robert used to be an unfunny clergyman named "Reverend Bob".
- Took the Bad Film Seriously: You wouldn't know it just from watching him, but John Shea took Lex Luthor very seriously. He even studied Nietzsche.
- What Could Have Been: An earlier script for "Seconds" had Mindy Church team up with Lex to try and kill Superman, and being punished for her crimes.
