- Dueling Games: Nier was published by Square Enix at roughly the same time as their post-apocalypse epic fantasy, Final Fantasy XIII.
- Hey, It's That Voice!: Gestalt might as well be called Darker Tales of Vesperia. Devola/Popola being Estelle, Kaine being Gauche, Nier being Duke, and Emil being Karol, oh, and Weiss is Cumore.
