Phalanx (fanfic)
Phalanx by "necaberint" is a Gears of War fanfic that follows the story of Gordon and his squadmates starting from a few days before the sinking of Jacinto to the New Hope Research Facility. The main selling point of the fic is that Iota Squad (the squad Gordon is in) uses shields to protect themselves from enemy fire, hence the name. Fifteen chapters of the fic were published on Fanfiction.net before it was abandoned in 2010. It can be read here.
