Power Rangers Time Force/YMMV

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

  • Alas, Poor Villain: Frax's fate is really... horrible.
  • Alternate Character Interpretation: It's a common fan opinion that Ransik's in the right here; at the very least, the government he's rebelling against definitely seems to have some creepy aspects that are never really addressed.
  • Draco in Leather Pants: As Linkara pointed out, many fans seem to treat Ransik as an Anti-Villain due to his sympathetic origins when this is not the case; prior to his redemption he is simply a sadistic, murderous criminal.
  • Ensemble Darkhorse: Of the entire series; especially when considering just Post-Zordon seasons. Even Jason David Frank himself has said this is his favorite season.
    • Within the series itself, Eric, simply because there hasn't been a Ranger like him before or since. (His actor, Daniel Southworth, has become this among the fandom in Real Life.)
  • Fridge Logic: If Alex is Wes's descendant, then why does he not seem to care about his supposedly inevitable death in the finale? Wouldn't that erase him from existence?
    • It's implied Alex isn't a direct descendant of Wes. Rather, he's descended from a relative of Wes (a cousin or something similair).
  • Fridge Horror: The mutants are supposed to be frozen, some of them for life sentences. One of them mentions that he has had two years to think while frozen. Just imagine a what a longer sentence would do.
  • Jerkass Woobie: Nadira.
    • Eric arguably. He's a jerk when we first see him, rejects Wes' friendship and is not much of a team player outside the Silver Guardians. Still, he had to struggle to get to where he is while his old friend seemingly got everything handed to him. And for all of his sternness, Eric is a much nicer person than he lets on.
      • Frax, as well.
  • Mary Sue: Several of the main cast have their moments (to varying degrees), but none are more suetiful than the nauseatingly wholesome Circuit, who verges on Creator's Pet territory for some. Not only is he adored by every cast member he interacts with, partially for his "utility" (despite the fact that the only thing he ever does is call the zords, which the team could probably do from their computer at the Tower) he's also omniscient and a genius. The only thing he ever does, all day, every day is sit around and wait for people in need of assistance. Oh, and the only people who ever hate on him are the villains, shocker.
  • Narm: Mr. Collins learned Wes is the Red Ranger when his visor shattered. The performances between the two in the resulting exchange were strong but rendered a little silly because Wes' voice was muffled from the helmet being in the way. That, and the broken helmet didn't fit very well and his nose kept poking out of the hole.
    • Nadira's "mutants can love too, daddy!" speech in the finale.
  • Nightmare Fuel: The way Frax's eyes bug out of his head is downright creepy, especially how there's rarely any warning he's about to do so.
  • Stock Footage Failure: Sentai stock footage is used in several scenes important to the plot. It doesn't cause plot holes because of the similarities, but several critical scenes have Wes suddenly turning Japanese.
  • Tear Jerker: Nadira and Frax.
    • And Wes saying good bye to the other Rangers.
  • What the Hell, Casting Agency?: What the hell is Edward Albert, an actual, legitimate, Golden Globe-winning actor, and Vernon Wells doing in Power Rangers?
  • Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds: Ransik. He was shunned by humans for being a mutant, so now he wants to compensate by dominating time, taking whatever he wants whenever.
