Can we get some examples on this page, please?

Despite the current description, I suspect this isn't specific to comic books - the same need for breaks exists in anime, manga, serial live-action TV and western animation, and literature.

However, I can't think of any examples off the top of my head.

Can we brainstorm and get a dozen or more examples of this, please?

There's a definite connection, yes. That trope should at least be mentioned on a "compare with" line here.

How is this different from Filler? It seems to me that the examples all add up to filler in between "real" story arcs -- particularly the 1-week research break taken by Boichi.

Robkelk (talkcontribs)

I believe the difference is that an Arc Break is an actual break in production with no episodes or issues being made during the break, while Filler is episodes or issues of an adaptation that don't draw on the original storyline.

An adaptation can do either or both, while an original work can only have arc breaks and by definition cannot have filler.

Okay, then. I must have misread the description then. Thanks.

Poking the thread with a sharp stick to keep discussion alive, otherwise I'm going to move that we take the tropestub template off the page and let the Wiki Magic work its excruciatingly slow way with the page.

Sorry, I've got nothing new to contribute yet.

We've gone from zero examples to seven examples in a month. And thank you to @Kuma for providing half of that list.

While I'd prefer to see more, I can live with disappointment. No objection to removing the stub tag.
