As I type this, the trope description has an Alice and Bob Example as a Thesis, a list of two different subtypes of the trope (imaginatively named "Type I" and "Type II"), a "not to be confused with" line, and one lonely, solitary example. Which means one of the subtypes doesn't have any examples at all, which makes me wonder why the trope is divided into subtropes in the first place.

The Other Wiki has a disambiguation page for works named "Odd Man Out", so there are plenty of examples out there even if half of that list doesn't relate to the trope.

Can we get a better description and more examples here, please?

If not, then we may as well turn this into a disambiguation page based on Wikipedia's list... so I'm putting a time limit on this one: If nobody does anything with this page by one minute after midnight (UTC) on May 1, I'm turning it into a disambiguagtion page.

Sorry, despite how ubiquitous this trope seems like it ought to be, I can't think of anything.

Robkelk (talkcontribs)

Something has been done with this one. It still needs more examples, but at lest somebody's working on it.

Robkelk (talkcontribs)

And that one edit is all that's been done with the page before the deadline that I set.

@RivetVermin, are you planning on doing anything more with this page?

RivetVermin (talkcontribs)

Honestly, no. That was just an example that immediately sprung to mind when I saw the trope. If no-one else can think of any, I guess it's dead in the water.

Looney Toons (talkcontribs)

Go for it, Rob. We're well past midnight UTC.

Robkelk (talkcontribs)

I do need to sleep some time... :)

Looney Toons (talkcontribs)

...at your leisure. <grin>

Robkelk (talkcontribs)

My leisure turned out to be a week later... although nobody complained even during that bonus grace period.

Done now.
