Base Breaker: The Shooting Star EP. One half of the base feels They Changed It, Now It Sucks and criticizes Adam for adopting a more 'generic' style, while the other half defends Adam by pointing out that he's just experimenting and developing his style.
Big Lipped Alligator Moment: In the music video for "To The Sky", which was made for the Legend of the Guardians film, Adam randomly turns into an owl at the end. Thematically appropriate, random as all hell.

Fridge Brilliance: A couple of lyrics have meanings that you need to think a bit about, but there are some pretty clever meanings: Fireflies has 'I'd like to make myself believe, that Planet Earth turns slowly'. The point, as this troper has realized over the last six months, is that it doesn't, life goes by too fast most of the time.
Mind Screw: Arguably, The Real World. Is Adam talking about some dream world he never wants to leave, or our world?

- Strawberry Avalanche is about... well, an avalanche of strawberries. It has candy-coated clouds.
Tear Jerker: "Vanilla Twilight" when you think about it, especially when coupled with "Lonely Lullaby". Both were written about his ex-girlfriend, Ann Marie, who was apparently his first serious girlfriend. "Lonely Lullaby" in particular is the most personal song he's ever written, making it all the more heart-wrenching.
- To some degree the opening lyrics of "Honey and the Bee" when you realize he's talking from the perspective of a bee in the countryside and referencing other insects being splattered on car windscreens...
  - There's quite a sad pair of lyrics in The Real World, quite strange compared to how upbeat the rest of the song is:

"If we dissolve without a trace/would the real world even care?"

They Changed It, Now It Sucks: There are a lot of complaints on Youtube about the Shooting Star EP, with many people complaining that the new style of the EP is too 'generic' and that it's just not Adam's style. Never mind the fact that Adam is known for experimenting with new styles...
True Art Is Incomprehensible: Quite honestly, any song that isn't about love or spirituality is this.
The Woobie: From the opening lyrics of "Honey and the Bee", the bee Adam's using as perspective. Lonely, watching other insects splatter on car windscreens. He even says it 'but boy I need a hug'. And this troper would give the poor guy one...
- Arguably this is what makes "Honey and the Bee" so touching. The fact that Adam sets up a poor lonely Woobie type, and then gives him a loving companion.
What Do You Mean It Wasn't Made On Drugs?: Although according to Wikipedia, he might have been affected by sleep deprivation for his initial recordings.
- What Do You Mean Its Not Symbolic: Quite a few of them, though "Meteor Shower" is a prominent example.
