  • Awesome Music: Danny Elfman did a great job composing the film's music.
  • Ensemble Darkhorse: J. Jonah Jameson stole the spotlight at the Daily Bugle.
  • First Installment Wins: For those who prefer it over Spider-Man 2, it has a simpler storyline and effective message about responsible.
  • Fountain of Memes: J. Jonah Jameson and Norman Osborn are the most quotable characters of the first film.
  • Memetic Badass: Like Bully Maguire of Spider-Man 3, the Green Goblin is memetically exaggerated.
  • Memetic Mutation: As with the other Raimi Spidey films, it sure is quotable.
    • "IMPRESSIVE!"
    • "I offered you friendship and you spat in my face."
    • "YOU KNOW HOW MUCH I SACRIFICED!?!"
    • "Misery, misery, misery. That's what you've chosen."
    • "I missed the part where that's my problem."
    • "I wouldn't want to fight me, neither."
  • Narm:
    • The Green Goblin would have been more menacing if his helmet didn't resemble a Power Rangers helmet.
    • Norman Osborn's glider landed directly at his groin.
  • Narm Charm: The Green Goblin's yellow eyes when he scared Aunt May were surprisingly effective.
  • One-Scene Wonder: Bruce Campbell as the Ringmaster and Randy Savage as Bonesaw stole the cage match scene.
  • Sacred Cow: J.K. Simmons' performance as J. Jonah Jameson is shown in a universally positive light for fans and non-fans.
  • Signature Line: "With great power comes great responsibility."
  • Signature Scene: Peter and Mary Jane's upside-down kiss in the rain.
  • Signature Song: "Hero" by Chad Kroeger and Josey Scott.
  • Values Dissonance: Peter asking Bonesaw if his husband made Bonesaw's outfit wouldn't fly in a later decade given advances made by the LGBTQ community.
