• Acting for Two: The voice actors of all characters that sport replicas, naturally. Sometimes there's even acting for three. Justified.
  • Significant Double Casting
• All-Star Cast: Voice-acting example only, but if you go to our character sheet, where the attributions are listed, you'll notice there's only like four or five characters total that have non-blue links, no matter which side of the ocean you're looking at.
• Bad Export for You: Although the American version got a Superlative Dubbing, the skits didn't have any voice overs. They added new Mystic Artes and costumes not present in the Japanese versions, but most people agree those didn't compensate. This got repeated in the 3DS port.
  • Even worse was the European version of the 3DS port. The localization was non-existent to the point that even the freaking back cover was in English in all countries. Most of the manual wasn't translated to other languages either, only the instructions to boot the game. And as an ice of the cake, the distribution was severely limited. Yeah, Namco. That's how you make a series popular in the European market...
• Cross-Dressing Voices: Ion and Mieu
• Fan Nickname: Luke's Fan Nickname is Ambassador Asshat, for when he cranks up his Jerkass nature Up to Eleven as an ambassador to Akzeriuth. That's what happens when you give a spoiled rich kid authority and tell him that his freedom and the opportunity to work alongside his beloved father figure ride entirely on him doing an impressive job.
• Hey, It's That Voice! Sid Yee has a strange condition where he is afraid of women.
  • Draculaura is a wise cheagle and has to rebuild a damage community.
  • Raven Queen now has a pope-like position, yet is very reasonable.
  • After burning down her homeland, Peashy is sent to help Luke.
  • Princess Aurora has conflicting opinions with Anise and continuously butt heads with her.
  • Deuce Gorgon became a nicer person after going on a journey of discovery.
  • Jin became a high ranking Phon general and with a nickname to runaway from.
  • Gollum is a one of the Old Generals and wants to resurrect a dead person he cares about.
  • Yammy quits being hungry all the time and became a father to Luke.
• Marth Debuted in Smash Bros: Nanaly from Tales Of Destiny II first appeared as a Cameo fight to the west in this game. Likewise, Reala and Harold from Tales Of Destiny II also first appeared in this game in the form of references in Tokunaga accessories.
• No Export for You: Live in Europe? Get a region 1 PlayStation 2 or learn Japanese and import a Japanese copy, it's the only way you'll ever see this game. Also what (quite reasonably given the series's past) fans expect from the 3DS port.
  • Subverted. The 3DS port was released in Europe, even before than in America. If you're in Europe and still want to play it on the PlayStation 2, you still have to import, though.
• The Other Darrin: Ion and Sync are both voiced by Ikue Ohtani in the game, by Yumiko Kobayashi in the anime.
• Remade for the Export: As stated above, unlike the original PlayStation 2 release, the Nintendo 3DS version was released in PAL regions.
• Talking to Himself: Replicas = same voice actor, thus highly justified. There's also an in-game example, when Lorelei possesses Tear to speak to Luke. As he says in the scene, they are the same person or at least the same fonon sentience.
  • Asch with Luke. They're basically twins.
  • Sync with Ion because they're clones of the same person.
• What Could Have Been: Apparently some stuff was discovered that suggests more stuff was Dummied Out. While quite a bit of it was restored for the North American localization (And the 3DS remake), among the things found were not only un-used Hi-Ougi cut-ins (Even for the cameo teams; a bug could have Rid show a cut-in for Burning Phoenix suggesting this was even programmed in) but also Van to be playable at one point.
  • X-Buster was apparently intended to be Dist's Hi-ougi/Mystic Arte.
