Talk:Fuck No TVTropes

Jade, I have deleted a large number of tropes from this page because they describe TV Tropes (or another work entirely), not Fuck No TVTropes. I have kept an offline copy of the tropes I deleted, and I plan to convert them into readable English and add (most of) them to TV Tropes' page, because they do not belong on this one. Commenting on the existence of a trope elsewhere is not the trope in use here. Do you understand?

If you're wondering why something disappeared, it's because it didn't belong here.

Other notes:

• "TV" is two capital letters. Always.
• The Brain Bleach entry is appropriate, because it documents reactions to certain pages on TVT, but needs considerable rewrite to be more than just pointers to posts.
• Brought Down to Normal: Misused. Retiring from writing a blog is not the same as losing one's super powers.
• Even TV Tropes Has Standards: Is not an example of the trope. It's not even a description of TVT using/embodying the trope. It's just a note about someone hoping TVT is demonstrating the trope.
• That Wiki Is Dead: Vastly misused. The trope is about a person rejecting his earlier life, taking a new name to symbolize the change in themselves, and telling anyone that addresses them by the old name that that person no longer exists. It is not "someone or something dies", nor is it another person's reaction to death.
• Torches and Pitchforks: Misused. Where's the angry mob taking justice into their own hands?
• Wimpification: In what way was FNTVT previously a dangerous, edgy villain who is now gotten softer and far less threatening? Do you even read the tropes you're using here? Or do you just look at the names and guess what they might mean?

This is a warning, Jade. I will be reading every entry you add to this page and promptly deleting anything that describes TVT and not FNTVT, or is in any other way misused.

Thanks, I was confused when I made those and I'm trying. So, how do I make it sound less that "so and so" thing applies to FNTVT? I was trying to think of ways to make it seem that the blog has this "so and so" issue, when in reality they're talking about Tv Tropes instead (Looks like I missed some). Did I get the rest that needs cleaning up? I was also try to find stuff that didn't make sense when read aloud.

The "torches and pitchforks" thing was just being talked about, not being featured. He was talking that a mob will come after him for mentioning GG, it's not there for reals.

Oh, I didn't know if I added that, the "whimpification" there or not (I was focused on cleaning up the typos and fixing my sentences), that does seem extreme to compare them to an edgy villain (I was talking about TVT when I added that though). I shoulda look to see if there's a trope to say this neutral group/ character got waterdown to fit better (I usually look for stronger tropes to describe things).

While I'm cleaning up my mess (Before I add anything else for the meantime), editing/adding/tweaking, and such. What are good examples to add in the "wimpificaiton" besides FNTVT and Encyclopedia Dramaticia? I'm searching the "Banned on TVT" list and I know I can't add the weeb stuff.

No problem, I did some of it last night the moment I got your message. I'm now trying to get the ones that I know I can fix.

Question before I go further with the clean up was Mark and Bogleech the same person? I thought that the mod guy and Bogleech are two different people.

Mainly because just in case we need to look it up to add more, since the author is currently erasing his internet social life.

What the hell does this mean? Typo, obscure slang, misused word? The most common usage I can find with a google search doesn't even apply in the context it's used in. And the linked FNTVT post does nothing to clarify.

I can't figure it out myself though and I am wondering what it is, sorry, I just placed it there since the blog had it there.

The Unperson entry on this page currently states:

"* Unperson: Cannot be mentioned on TV Tropes at all by anyone on pain of banning, especially in a positive manner."

However, I noticed two recent entries on the blog. One shows that somebody went and made an article on it over on TVT. The other shows that Fast Eddie himself did some editing of the page, but shockingly, he only cleaned up some formatting while leaving the criticism intact! The entry on ATT ought to be changed to reflect this.

I've fixed the entry.

And apparently TV Tropes is back to being wimps who can't take criticism. We might want to recheck anything we've recently tagged as "formerly banned" to see if it got rebanned since the last time we looked.

Edit: And just how oversensitive do you have to be to ban a dead blog that hasn't had a new post in a year?
