The King's Epic Adventure/YMMV

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

  • Ass Pull: No doubt played for laughs in plenty of the episodes. Making a list would be a bit unwieldy, but the defeat of Konata and recently the floor coming out from underneath King in his prison cell are just a couple of examples.
  • Anticlimax Boss: Many of The King's fights usually end with the boss getting owned one way or another, and none of them has eaten The King's ill-claimed 'dinner'.
  • Non Sequitur Scene: Lots of them, though a couple of notable offenders would be Baby Daisy's random appearance, the odd farm animals, and Scratch and Grounder reading Azumanga Daioh, all in episode 2.
  • Breather Boss: Shinenzuman was killed by Captain Falcon, meaning The King won by default.
  • Growing the Beard: The first two episodes did not look nearly as good as the third one. Then again, Geibuchan has moved from using Windows Movie Maker to make the episodes to Sony Vegas. As a result, the effects are much better, and set the score for later episodes.
  • Fan Dumb: Unavoidable, unfortunately. People don't seem to realize that just because Geibuchan said that new episodes will be released in the summer doesn't necessarily mean that there'll be a new one just as summer starts...
  • Fridge Brilliance: The King defeats Dieman with a thrown machine gun. If you've seen the CDI games, Ganon's defeat makes a whole lot more sense, since a special item (the Book of Koridai and the Wand of Gamelon) being thrown at him kills him instantly.
    • It's possible that Tsukasa's seemingly permanent Blank White Eyes state is a result of being in catatonic shock. After all, two guys (Snake and Otacon) appearing out of nowhere only to start to beat the crap out of your friend is enough to do that, let alone the weirdness of this series that she happens to be caught in. Then again, it's Tsukasa...
    • Episode 4, part 1 - When Link and Zelda get a call from The King, it's nighttime, yet it shows the King in daytime. How is that possibl- Wait, Japan and Hyrule Castle are obviously in two different time zones!
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: In Episode 4 it's revealed that The King's shit has been a mass-marketed product in Japan. It may be Played for Laughs, but coincidentally, there's a new burger in Japan made by extracting the protein from human faeces. Guess The King's shit really is big in Japan.
  • Nightmare Fuel: The ReDead only makes one appearance in episode 2, but that's all it needed to scare the crap out of some viewers.
  • Special Effects Failure: Played for laughs in episode 3, during the EarthBound spoof, the robots don't disappear (like most enemies do when they're defeated in said game because "Geibuchan is too lazy!"
  • Squick: Normally, shit isn't supposed to be tasty...
  • That One Boss: Both Konata and Scatterbrain in episode 3 were extremely powerful. Scatterbrain was almost completely impossible to defeat, and Konata's DS would have ensured her victory thanks in part on being a voodoo artifact. The King was undeniably thrashed, but it was probably through lucky breaks and several timely events that The King actually succeeded. But no, his shit didn't make the cut for Konata simply because of Scratch, Grounder, and Coconut's interference.
