Imminent Moose was a somewhat quirky Journal Comic webcomic written by Kyle Travers.

The series chronicled the life of the author through his day-to-day existence as a college student in Burlington, VT. Earlier strips focused on everyday dorm life but it eventually shifted into focusing on apartment living and working retail. The comic was mostly self-reflective and often centered on the author’s life experiences and observations on life with frequent appearances by friends and roommates.

Occasionally the strips took a more surreal turn in chronicling the struggles of Squid Fairy, a winged squid that grants wishes…pertaining to squids, as well as a short story about a snail’s dreams of flight.

The comic used to update on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It has been "on hiatus" since September 2013 and the website is no longer on the live web. You can read a copy at the Wayback Machine here.

Tropes used in Imminent Moose include:

• Anachronic Order: The only thing set in stone about a strip's position in the timeline is which semester it took place in.
• And Now for Someone Completely Different: A non-video game example: Though Kyle is the main character, a few comics have focused on other members of the cast such as Robin, Allison, or Eboney.
  • The filler comics early in the series' run focus on a snail which has nothing to do with the author or the main cast.
• Animesque: The short saga of Kyle running to catch a bus.
• Art Evolution: It's subtle, but there is a definite shift in style from the beginning strips to the current ones.
• Author Avatar: The main character IS the author.
• Badass: Apparently, Kyle's cat, appropriately named Moxie Jones. ^{[dead link]}
• Baleful Polymorph: Kyle theorizes that some of the neighborhood cats might be humans cursed by witches
• Beauty Mark: Kyle has a small mole on his left cheek under his eye.
• Berserk Button: Do not take Kyle's nutella ^{[dead link]}
• Beware the Nice Ones: Allison, as evidenced here and here.
• Big Eater: Several strips focus on the author's love of food
• Big Guy, Little Guy: Ryan and Kyle, respectively. Though, the series has not shown one being any less intelligent than the other.

  • Maybe Kyle, sometimes. Not nearly as much as Allison.

• Demoted to Extra: Go through more recent comics and count the amount of times Allison, Ryan, Scott, or really any introduced character that is not Kyle, Jeremy, or probably Chico shows up. It seems like some may have even been Put on a Bus considering they rarely if ever appear these days, although YMMV as the comic has always had a more self-reflective tone.

• Word Salad Title: There is no moose anywhere in the comic. It is hard to tell if one is imminent, but there has been nothing pointing to that part being true either.
  • This may be a Stealth Joke in reference to the many "Moose Crossing" signs that are stationed all over Vermont.
• You Gotta Have Blue Hair: One of the only colors ever seen in the whole comic is Kyle's blue hair.
