Proposal: Rename to "Speed Lines"

The Other Wiki calls these motion lines, and mentions that they're "also known as movement lines, action lines, speed lines, or zip ribbons". Adobe uses the name "speedlines".

As far as DuckDuckGo tells me, "Speed Stripes" is a term used only by TV Tropes.

It's part of All The Tropes' mission statement to be a reference for everybody, not a place where made-up terms are used. The term that appears to be in Real Life common use is "speed lines". I propose we use this Real Life term.

Agreed. Rename.

Jlaw (talkcontribs)

Agree to rename to Speed Lines.

HeneryVII (talkcontribs)

Yeah, Speed Lines works for me

Utini501 (talkcontribs)

I've heard Speed Lines used loads of times, but not Speed Stripes. Not even on TV Tropes! Ergo, I'm pretty okay with this rename. :p

Haggishunter (talkcontribs)

Yes, I think "speed lines" is a better name. It immediately reminded me of "whizz lines", which I've heard used for the "drawn on the character" version.
