Black Gloves/Characters
Hester Allen
- Apologises a Lot
- Brainy Brunette - technically, she has black hair, but the trope still stands.
- Cute Clumsy Girl
- Deadpan Snarker - on occasion, usually when she's angry.
- Jerkass Woobie - She is...not a very nice girl. And yet you still kinda feel bad for her anyway.
- Manic Pixie Dream Girl - A severe deconstruction. Hester tried to fix someone in that manner once and it really did not work.
- Most Writers Are Writers
- Supporting Protagonist - after Jack shows up.
- Unreliable Narrator - with regards to the nature of her relationship with James Glass.
Jack Wynand (aka Jack Ryan)
- Action Hero - well, duh.
- The Charmer
- Captain Obvious - can slip into this at times.
- Genius Bruiser
- Heroic Mime - In the original game, he was this. Now...not so much. Jack is pretty much the master of the Epic Verbal Beatdown.
- Jerkass - his annoyance with Hester can verge on this. YMMV, though.
- Laser Guided Tykebomb
- Phlebotinum Rebel
- Tall, Dark and Snarky - Very much so.
Atlas and real!Atlas
- Faking the Dead - Subverted. The real Atlas went into hiding for so long that Fontaine thought he was dead and stole his identity. Then he shows up again, just in time to watch his family die.
- Voice with an Internet Connection
James Glass
- Driven to Suicide - The Glass family has a history of mental instability, and Hester got between him and his fiancee at exactly the wrong time.
- Shallow Love Interest - Subverted. Most of what we hear about James [[Unreliable Narrator is from Hester's perspective...
- Suicide, Not Murder - Inverted. Hester believes that James would have never done such a thing, because he was so happy with her, and his fiancee Mallorie must have had something to do with it... She's wrong.
- Troubled but Cute
- The Quiet One
Ava Glass
- Disproportionate Retribution - The incident between Ava's brother and Hester Allen on the day of his death can't be blamed on any one person. Ava doesn't care.
- Femme Fatale - subverted. Ava did not start out that way, but she'd been playing those kinds of roles for so long...
- Lady in Red
- World's Most Beautiful Woman - Once upon a time, they called her the Face of Rapture. Too bad about what went on behind the scenes.
