Dawson Casting: Most of the actors are older than their characters. Bridgit Mendler is about 3 years older than Teddy, Jason Dolly is about 2 years older than PJ, When the show first started Gabe was supposed to be 10 making Bradley Steven Perry 2 years older. Amy and Bob were supposed to be high school sweethearts. Leigh Allyn-Baker was 37 when the show first started and Eric Allan Kramer was about 10 years older. Gabe and Charlie are around the same age as their actors portraying them—give or take one year.

- Let's start with the main cast:
  - Bridgit Mendler rose to fame as Juliet, Justin Russo's vampire girlfriend on Wizards of Waverly Place. This is also not the first time her and Samantha Boscarino (Skyler) have played friends.
  - Leigh-Allyn Baker is best known to Disney Channel viewers as Mickey, one of the co-hosts of "The Mack and Mickey Show", a husband and wife-hosted Show Within a Show that featured in two episodes of Hannah Montana. She may also be remembered as Ellen from Will and Grace, or Hannah Webster of Charmed.
  - Bradley Steven Perry would later play Roger, Sharpay's rival turned ally in Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure.
  - Eric Allan Kramer is probably best known as Little John in Robin Hood: Men in Tights, Bear (The guy Stifler has a dance off with) in the third American Pie film, and as Coach Gunderson in Wizards of Waverly Place.
  - Jason Dolley is a veritable Disney Channel icon, starring in many Disney Channel original movies, and the original series Cory in The House.
- Others:
  - Raven Goodwin starred as Jordan's cousin on Just Jordan.
  - What's Caroline Julian doing living next door to these people?
  - When did Shawn's dad become Bob's uncle?
  - And since when did Patrick the Maitre d' teach English?
  - Raven's Spanish teacher played a "cat and bird therapist" named Dr. Tish Tushy.

  - Dakota Condor played a love interest (sorta) for Gabe.
  - Ryan Newman, who plays Zeke's sister on Zeke and Luther, also played a love interest for Gabe.

  - Since when does Freddie's mom work at a spa?
  - Tim Russ continues to draw a steady paycheck, this time appearing as a doctor.
  - What is Kel doing announcing winners in a band contest?
  - What's Bobbi Glass doing being Charlie's godmother?
  - Mrs. Dabney sometimes does legal over at the Smithsonian.
I Am Not Spock: Disney Channel in the UK has taken to advertising Minutemen and Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure as featuring "PJ/Gabe from Good Luck Charlie" as opposed to actually naming Jason Dolley & Bradley Steven Perry.
Irony as She Is Cast: PJ is dimwitted and a poor guitarist, but Jason Dolley had a 4.0 GPA in high school and is able to play guitar and piano.
