Haydee (Video Game)

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

Haydee is a Metroidvania Indie Game with Third-Person Shooter and Platformer elements, developed by Haydee Interactive and released September 26, 2016 on Steam.

You control Haydee, a very scantily clad cyborg woman making her way through a series of progressively difficult and grueling challenges within an Elaborate Underground Base, trying to escape.

Tropes used in Haydee (Video Game) include:
  • Action Girl Haydee, of course.
  • Air Vent Passageway A few of them, which gives players a perfect shot of...you know.
  • Ambiguously Brown It's hard to tell if Haydee is just tan, or if her skintone is an ethnic thing.
  • The Blank The robot-half of Haydee gives her a featureless face-mask helmet thing.
  • Best Known for the Fanservice Haydee's fanbase mostly only talks about 2 things: The big-breasted, sexy legged cyborg protagonist OR the difficult puzzles. Guess which they talk about more?
  • Colour-Coded for Your Convenience Each zone has a Color Motif that alludes to its theme. The White Rooms are the Video Game Tutorial, the Green Rooms are platforming-based, the Red Rooms have a lot of pipes, the Yellow Rooms are flooded with Deadly Gas, the Blue Rooms are underwater, and the Black Rooms are swarmed with enemies.
  • Combat Stilettos She wears a pair. It's just about the only clothing she has below the waist. Impressive considering all that she manages to do in the game while wearing them.
  • Cyborg Haydee is literally half-robot, half-human, with tight-fitting plastic plates completely armoring her upper-body and absolutely nothing below her waist, giving the player a front row seat to her well-toned legs.
  • Damaging Terrain Majority of the damage you'll take in the game is from falling. There's also toxic gas in some areas.
  • Deadly Gas The Yellow Rooms are flooded with this, so the player must have a gas-mask equipped to navigate in it.
  • Elaborate Underground Base The game's setting can sometimes gives some Portal vibes.
  • Excuse Plot You're a Robot Girl trying to escape an Elaborate Underground Base, go.
  • Expy Haydee resembles the Combine Assassin, a scrapped Half-Life enemy. Also EVE from WALL-E, but with sexy legs and less face.
  • Fan Service Just try to describe Haydee without making her sound sexy.
  • Fan Communities Steam opened the workshop for the game. Mods abound!
  • Featureless Protagonist All Haydee has is a very fanservice-y appearance. No voice, no personality, no backstory, no face.
  • Gag Boobs Haydee's breasts are literally bigger than her head.
  • Gainaxing / Jiggle Physics Sweet Jesus.
  • Guys Smash, Girls Shoot Haydee wields an array of guns and explosives. The other robots (who we refer to as male) mostly smash and slash when it comes to attacking her.
  • Handguns Haydee's Weapon of Choice is a trusty Glock-esque pistol.
  • Heroic Mime You never hear a peep out of Haydee. Since she's a robot (with no mouth), it's possible it's not entirely her fault.
  • Idiot Ball The game's difficulty will throw this at you a bunch, and make you feel bad when you mishandle your items. ESPECIALLY the limited saves.
  • Jump Physics It's a big part of the game.
  • Kill and Replace If the Haydee you control dies, another seemingly replaces her going through the trials of the facility.
  • Life Meter Haydee's health bar is built into her, displayed on the back of her head in a similar style to "Dead Space"
  • Male Gaze Christ, half of the game's Nintendo Hard nature comes from the fact that you're too busy looking at Haydee's boobs and ass to focus on the task at hand. Mods and the Steam Workshop take it Up To Eleven.
  • Mecha-Mooks All of the enemies are combat drones.
  • Mercy Rewarded Killing less than 50 bots earns you the "Mercy" achievement.
  • Metroidvania The game is mostly platforming, exploration, and trying to strengthen Haydee and her arsenal.
  • Mighty Glacier The Brawler enemies are slow, but their club hands pack a punch.
  • Minimalist Run Sticking to the pistol throughout the entire game will get you the "Oldschool" achivement.
  • Ms. Fanservice Haydee, of course, thanks to her ridiculously huge, jiggly breasts and an exposed pair of well-toned thighs with her ass hanging out.
  • Multiple Endings Based on the player's choices, the game can end in three different ways... They can either unsuccessfully escape in the "Escape" ending, go rogue and take control of the facility in the "Master" ending, or have the whole incident restart in the "Backup" ending.
  • Nintendo Hard The game makes sure to let you know how unforgiving and ruthless it can get.
  • No Damage Run Beating it without taking any damage will earn you the "God Mode" achievement.
  • One-Hit Kill The Assassin enemies will do this with their bladed arms and boy are they fast. The only way to survive an attack is to have the body armor equipped, and it's obtainable very early on in the tutorial area.
  • Pants-Free Everything under Haydee's waist is completely exposed (excluding her feet which she has high-heels on for).
  • Protagonist Title Fallacy That's her common name, and the title of the game, but there's more than one of her so it isn't exactly 100% true either.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning All of the enemies have glowing red eyes.
  • Robot Girl She's actually a cyborg.
  • Save Game Limits The little red diskettes, which are used up each time you save. In Hardcore mode, in addition to its other restrictions, also reduces the number of resources you can find, which include said save diskettes. USE THEM WISELY!
  • Sexy Walk Oh, please. After everything else you've read about her, are you really surprised?
  • She's Got Legs HOT-Damn straight she does!
  • Those Who Fight Monsters One of the endings has Haydee taking over the facility as its new "master". Therefore, one could interpret it as this trope.
  • Uncanny Valley The game is full of it. The main character, the story (or lack-of), the environments, the music, the lighting/atmosphere. You'd almost think you were in a horror game... Then you get ambushed by an enemy.
  • Under the Sea The Blue Rooms are mostly underwater.
  • Up to Eleven The base game has enough fanservice already, but thanks to mods and the steam workshop... It takes it up to this.
  • Violence Is the Only Option You can't negotiate or interact with the attack-drone enemies you encounter. You can only either kill them or run away, that's all you can do to avoid them.
  • Woman in White Haydee's cybernetic plating is all white.
  • X Meets Y Sort of like Portal meets Metroid meets Ghost in the Shell meets Robo Geisha.
  • You All Look Familiar The Haydee you play as turns out to be one of many. There's no real way of knowing just how many others there are of her. Only that they ALL look exactly the same.
  • Zerg Rush The enemies don't really have much of a strategy other than run straight for Haydee and kill her. If they can't see her, or if they are unable to reach her, they won't move an inch.
