Tropes used in Murder Drones include:
- Adorkable: N, he's a sweetheart that wants to help everyone and has a crush on V. Hard to believe he's apart of the Axe Crazy disassembly drones.
- Aerith and Bob: You got names like Uzi and Doll and have more common names like Lizzie and Thad. There are also One-Letter Names.
- Affably Evil: N, he's a murder drone but also one of the nicest characters in show.
- After the End: The series takes place after the human supposedly wiped themselves out leaving their worker drones to pick up the pieces on their own.
- Alpha Bitch: Lizzie goes between being this and being Lovable Alpha Bitch.
- Ambiguously Evil: Doll.
- Ambiguous Situation: J shows up at the end of the episode 3 despite being killed off in episode 2. Is it a copy or is Body Backup Drive in play here?
- Antagonist Title
- Ax Crazy: All the murder drones are this. Heck, some of the worker drones like Uzi can be this.
- Bad Boss: J to N. She has said he's worthless and terrible and if it weren't for the company, she'd straight up kill him TO HIS FACE NO LESS!
- Bishonen: N.
- The Blade Always Lands Pointy End In: Happens to a pen that lands in J's hair and later eye.
- Body Horror: That J turns into in episode 2.
- Bratty Half-Pint: Uzi, though half the time it's a plausible reaction.
- Cute and Psycho: Uzi and V are this.
- Danger Deadpan: The general reaction to the horrors half the time.
- Dirty Coward: Khan and the rest of his squad. In the first episode, Khan ditches Uzi to be killed by N (thankfully, this causes him to do a Heel Face Turn).
- Even Evil Has Standards: Pre-Heel Face Turn, N stops attacking Uzi when her father abandons her.
- Emo Teen: Uzi.
- Good Thing You Can Heal: N and V take the heavier hits in battle since they can simply regrow their limbs.
- Hartman Hips: J and V have these.
- Healing Factor: The Disassembly Drones can regrow limbs and their saliva heals wounds.
- Odd Friendship: V and Lizzie, though they have both betrayed each other in episode 3. Played more straight with Lizzie and Doll.
- One-Letter Name: N, V, and J. N even lampshades this when he tries talking to V.
- Our Vampires Are Different: N says they drink oil (blood) to avoid overheating.
- Ship Tease: N/V shown in a flashback and N/Uzi in episode 3.
- Stepford Smiler: N.
- Used to Be a Sweet Kid: V as revealed with episode 2. V used to be a shy girl who had a mutual crush on N.
- Villain Protagonist: Uzi, she wants to get off the planet to kill humanity.
- You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: When N questions J about what JC Jenson will do to them when all the worker drones are dead, J finally have the things he needs to put a virus in N. H gets better.
