Neko Sugar Girls/YMMV

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

  • Accidental Innuendo: Koneko-chan loves mochi ice cream so much, she makes suggestive noises as she chews and is left in a daze of pleasure after finishing.
    • If there are other people in the room, invite them over to watch with you. Otherwise they'll just hear Raku-chan talking and think you're watching Asian porn. This goes double for episode four.
  • Alternate Character Interpretation: Koneko-chan doesn't have any involvement in Raku's romance, or even any other defining characteristics. At times it seems like she is aware of her true nature, horrified at the world and show in which she lives. Other times, it seems like she is high or intoxicated, supposedly to run away from the Awful Truth.
    • Or, Raku could be mentally disabled, Koneko is friends with her out of sympathy (or legitimate friendship) and Hitoshi is being a dick and teasing her.
  • Amusing Injuries: Admit it. You enjoyed seeing Raku-chan get bit by the squirrel (At least, until she began screaming.).
    • Additionally, Raku-chan falling flat on her face in episode 6.
  • Bile Fascination
  • Brain Bleach: You'll need it.
  • Crowning Moment of Funny:
  • Ensemble Darkhorse: Squirrel-chan/Squeaker-chan.
    • The black cat that appears in the intro is also very well liked compared to the rest of the cast.
    • Kidnapper-kun also has his fair share of fanart over on Deviant ART.
  • Fan Disservice: Panty Shots and Gainaxing.
    • Not to mention Hitoshi-san fantasizing about his attacker in episode four, picturing him with no shirt, leather pants, and a visible bulge.
    • Hitoshi in pink swimtrunks from episode 6 definitely counts.
    • Episode 8. Raku-chan's bikini. Good lord.
  • Fan Nickname: In Episode 6 of the "Let's Watch!" series by Failsafe Productions, the kidnapper is given the nickname Geoff. Judging by some of the comments posted on the Christmas Episode, it's starting to catch on.
  • Fetish Retardant: The Fan Disservice mentioned above, as well as how Off-Model everything always is.
  • Freud Was Right: Koneko-Chan's wang tail.
  • Fridge Horror: Someone out there wanted this to exist so badly that they made it with the help of their friends.
  • Ho Yay: Despite getting kidnapped and almost raped by the guy, Hitoshi-san has been having homoerotic daydreams about his kidnapper and seems to be falling for him.
  • Mary Sue: None of the characters are well rounded or likable. That said, Raku-chan is easily a Sue and fits into several different categories of Sues:
    • Anti-Sue: Has no positive qualities. Is whiny and her immaturity is stated by Koneko-chan. Her voice is also so irritating that why any of the characters would deal with her is a mystery. Despite all this, she is the primary love interest of Hitoshi-san and is apparently great friends with Koneko-chan.
    • Black Hole Sue: Despite the series supposedly being about three different characters going about their lives, everything is strung along by Raku-chan and her infatuation with Hitoshi.
    • Purity Sue: All her obvious flaws are played off as being "Kawiee" and cute. Everyone loves her.
    • Parody Sue: If the show happens to be a Stealth Parody.
    • Sympathy Sue: She even mentions that it's a dick move to be using a squirrel bite to gain sympathy and still does it anyway. And it works.
  • Memetic Mutation: The terms "Downright sugoi" and "I am very arigatoful" are becoming fairly popular among fans.
  • Memetic Sex God: Hitoshi-san.
  • Mind Screw: The whole series could count.
  • Moe Moe: The show is essentially a moe drama.
  • Most Annoying Sound: The ending theme, and the 45 seconds of screaming after the squirrel bites Raku-chan.
  • Narm: Yes. By the torukku load.
  • Romantic Plot Tumor: Raku-chan and Hitoshi's relationship.
    • Hitoshi-san's daydreaming and possible feelings for his kidnapper/attempted rapist seem to be shaping into this.
  • The Scrappy: Raku-chan, even when compared to the other characters, because of her horrifically high pitched voice and whining.
  • Special Effects Failure: The Windows Movie Maker text. Also when Raku-chan and Koneko-chan crash through a window to save Hitoshi-san.
  • Strangled by the Red String: Hitoshi-san and Raku-chan.
  • They Just Didn't Care: The opening theme is borrowed from Dance Dance Revolution. However, rather than finding a copy of it online, the creators somehow recorded it straight off the game, with the announcer and everything.
  • Wangst: Raku-chan.
