Alternately, we could move the examples of multiple arms that don't have anything to do with multitasking to Multi-Armed and Dangerous... which would create a difference between the two tropes.

Umbire the Phantom (talkcontribs)

I'd vote for the latter, honestly.

Looney Toons (talkcontribs)

That works for me. The description could be expanded a little, too, just to make things clearer.

HeneryVII (talkcontribs)

Works for me too.

I think the name for this is self-descriptive enough and that the confusion lies with Excuse Me While I Multitask, where the casualness/nonchalance involved in that trope could be better reflected with something like "Nonchalant Multitasking" or "Casual Danger Multitasking" to play off Nonchalant Dodge or Casual Danger Dialogue. Excuse Me... and Nonchalant Dodge already link to each other as it stands.

Umbire the Phantom (talkcontribs)

Definitely inclined to agree, GD.

Robkelk (talkcontribs)

The issue I had isn't the casualness; it's the lack of multitasking.

Quoting from Merriam-Webster: multitasking (noun): ... (2) the performance of multiple tasks at one time "The job requires a person who is good at multitasking."

If the character isn't doing multiple things at the same time, "Multitasking" is the wrong word.

That seems more like non-examples need to be pruned or moved, and maybe a rework of the description, rather than anything wrong with the trope name, if put it that way.

Umbire the Phantom (talkcontribs)

Which is what Rob had said previously, as it happens - just curate the examples and the mass majority of the issue should be resolved.

I think we're all in agreement here. I've put a cleanup tag on the page, to remind me that this needs to be done (or let somebody else do it first).
