Avengers
Hawkeye, aka Clint Barton
The main hero. An Avenger with unerring aim.
- Ten-Minute Retirement: In the very first story arc, Iron Man ticks off Clint, who quits. Then, the Grim Reaper captures the Avengers. Hawkeye beats him up, then decides to stay on the team.

- Dark and Troubled Past: His parents died, then he got put in an orphanage, then he joined the Circus of Crime, then he became a SHIELD agent and was betrayed and arrested...

- Determinator: After Grim Reaper overpowers and defeats almost all of the Avengers, Hawkeye still fights him. With no one but Wasp to help him. Amazingly, he defeats Reaper.
- Parental Abandonment: Clint's parents were killed in a car crash.

Mockingbird, aka Bobbi Morse
An Avenger and a good friend of Hawkeye's, as well as a former member of his old S.H.I.E.L.D. team. She's attracted to Hawkeye.

- Ship Tease: with Hawkeye
- Tsundere: Makes Hawkeye coffee early in the morning at the end of "Newbies", then in "Meet the Bat-Family" directly afterwards, she quickly gets ticked off by Batman and Robin. Causing Batman and Robin to get ticked off. Causing Batman to lose control and beat up both her AND Hawkeye.
- Ascended Extra: After appearing in only two story arcs during the show this fanfic is based on, she is now an Avenger and major character.
Black Panther, aka T'Challa
King of Wakanda. Hawkeye is a good friend of his.
- Big Damn Heroes: Swoops in and defeats Ringmaster amazingly easily in "Why I Hate the Circus".
- Curb Stomp Battle: against Ringmaster in "Why I Hate the Circus". All Panther does is grab his hat.

Gambit, aka Remy LeBau
A former thief who joined the Avengers after reforming.
- The Atoner
- Ascended Extra: This is the same Gambit from Wolverine and the X-Men, who appeared in about two episodes, and now has some sort of appearance in most of the "episodes".
- Heel Face Turn: After his role in Wolverine and the X-Men as a thief-for-hire, he changed his ways, and joined the X-Men, then the Avengers.
Quicksilver, aka Pietro Maximoff
An ex-lackey to Magneto, who later joined the Avengers.

- Heel Face Turn: After being Magneto's Dragon, he reformed and joined the Avengers.
Wasp, aka Janet Van Dyne
One of the original Avengers, and the nice one of the bunch.
Spider-Man
One of the newest Avengers.
Vision
An android. One of the Avengers.
Captain America, aka Steve Rogers
Leader of the Avengers.
Scarlet Witch, aka Wanda Maximoff
The former leader of the Avengers.

A vigilante who operates in Gotham.

- Parental Substitute: Hawkeye refers to Swordsman as his "adoptive dad", albeit it was less like "my adoptive dad" and more like "my...adoptive dad".
- Heel Face Turn: He used to work with the Circus of Crime.
Villians
Grim Reaper
A supervillian who wants revenge on Hawkeye for the destruction of his old base of operations, HYDRA Island.
Crossfire
A villian who was arrested by SHIELD and thrown in the Vault. The Vault exploded, and he escaped.
The Joker
A psychopath and criminal.
