Helluva Boss/Characters

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

Immediate Murder Professionals

The protagonists from Helluva Boss. The Immediate Murder Profession, or I.M.P, is an assassination business that started in Hell to kill people on Earth when requested by Sinners — usually having to do with revenge for how they were wronged, or sometimes for revenge.

Tropes about I.M.P:

  • Badass Crew: Subverted as all of them can fight well with guns, but when they run out of ammo, they run out of options. Millie is adept at using close-range weaponry along with hand-to-hand, though.
  • Beware the Silly Ones: As incompetent as they seem, their success rate as hired guns is pretty good.
  • Chosen Family: What Blitzø wants I.M.P to be despite it being a business focused on killing. This is due to his past mistakes that ostracized him from his family and friends. While they start as not the best group, they come together later on and care for each other.
  • Combat Pragmatist: They specialize in assassination, and when in a fight, they follow an "anything goes" policy.
  • Dysfunctional Family: Each one of them comes from one:
    • Blitzø and Moxxie were raised by terrible fathers while also dealing with the loss of their mothers.
    • Despite being adopted by Blitzø, Loona has a somewhat troubled relationship with him but does seem to care in her own way, even when he doesn't respect her boundaries.
    • Millie's family can be hypocrites with how they disapprove of her assassin career despite coming from the Wrath Ring, where killing is practically a sport. They also dislike her marriage with Moxxie due to his nature, which relies on intelligence rather than physicality. She doesn't have much of a decent connection with her sister. Though, she still cares for them and doesn't carry ill will to them.
  • Fun with Acronyms: I.M.P., which stands for Immediate Murder Professionals, is an assassin business run by imps.
  • Laughably Evil: Part of what makes them so cool.
  • Murder, Inc.
  • Villain Protagonist: demons and Professional Killers by trade, though most of the time, the antagonists are much worse.

Blitzø Buckzo

The 'o' is silent.

The boss, founder, and manager of I.M.P. is enthusiastic but blundering and tries to motivate his employees to do better, but his methods. Often states' the 'o' is silent in his name.

Tropes exhibited by this character include:
  • Abusive Parents: Blitzø's father sold him as a child for an afternoon with Stolas for five bucks and a condom while also emotionally manipulating his mother to make him steal from the Goetia.
  • All Girls Like Ponies: Gender-Inverted, where Blitzø loves horses. He was often shown to have drawings, figurines, and plushies with horses; his favorite movie is Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron.
  • Big Brother Instinct: Unfortunately, his sister hates him. It is even implied that the incident that made him want to protect her was actually his fault.
  • Broken Ace: He is resilient and has run I.M.P. to success while being a good shot and sexually attractive to a succubus and a Goetia Royal. He has lots of issues, such as mood swings, depressive traits, and a belief that nobody can like him.
  • Out-of-Character is Serious Business: As Loona puts it, if he tells you to do something without using any entendres, euphemisms, or cuss words, you'd best do what he says because he is deadly serious.
  • Running Gag: anytime he introduces himself, he insists "the O is silent".

Millie Knolastname

Team M and M gettin' shit done!

A description of the character goes here.

Tropes exhibited by this character include:
  • Affably Evil: Most of the time.
  • An Axe to Grind: her weapon of choice, which she keeps in Hammerspace; ironically, she wants slaughtered a group of lumberjacks with it.
  • Berserk Button: Never ever hurt Moxxie if she is within a hundred miles, because if you do she will become...
    • The Berserker: In which case, according to Blitzo, it would take a "roider up hippo" to stop her rampage, and her furious eyes will be the last thing you ever see.
  • Cute Monster Girl
  • The Ditz: Much of the time, her personality brings to mind a ditzy teenager, though she's had her Genius Ditz moments.
  • More Deadly Than the Male: Even after Moxxie Grew a Spine in season three, she is far more dangerous than he is.

Loona Buckzo

I feel so loved right now.

A description of the character goes here.

Tropes exhibited by this character include:
  • Afraid of Needles: As shown in "Western Energy", she is incredibly trypanophobic, so much that the "threat" of getting a shot causes her to regress to a bestial state.
  • Breakout Character: The Furry Fandom took notice of her quickly.
  • Ms. Fanservice: If you're into that sort of thing, yes, though her human disguise plays it straight.
  • Petting Zoo People: Demon wolf girl.
  • Sassy Secretary: She was this to Blitzo initially, though in subsequent episodes she became more active in their history job.
  • The Vamp: She fills this role in "Spring Broken", using her attractive human disguise to lure the marks to their doom.
  • What Measure Is a Non-Human?: It seems that in Hell, hellhounds like Loona rate only slightly higher than animals on the social ladder. Blitzo found her in an institution that was both an orphanage and pound, one month to being "aged out" and terrified of her impending fate.
  • Would Hurt a Child: She is much less reluctant to do so than the other IMPs. Her Establishing Character Moment in the pilot occurs when she kicks a baby carriage out of rage.
