Non Sequitur Scene: Lackadaisy Dirthyramb, which is just Rocky reciting an ode to the Mississippi River.
Crack Pairing: From the Lackadaisy Shipping War! thread, we have Moron. Mordecai and his iron.
- In the same thread, Pancky (Rocky/pancakes) was mentioned, however, the current task at hand is taking down all Domzi (Dom/Mitzi) shippers.

Draco in Leather Pants: One forumgoer just about had a nervous breakdown when the Author said that Mordecai was pretty much incapable of love.
- Lampshaded here. But of course she knew when she wrote the character that an obsessive-compulsive sociopath who prides himself on lacking a personality was the height of sex appeal.
  - The appeal comes from having the bad boy character and Comedic Sociopathy all wrapped up in one psychotically evil symmetrical package!
Ensemble Darkhorse: Freckle and Mordecai fit this trope all too well.
- Although Freckle recently is starting to become more of a main, recurring character.
- Zib seems to be gaining popularity, what with all the Zibzi shippers showing up.
- Dom Drago has been in only two comic pages so far, yet he already has Lackadaisy Forumgoers declaring love.
- Elsa the former nurse seems to be as well, if forum goers are any indication.
Evil Is Sexy: Serafine Savoy is a pretty good candidate for this.
- Mordecai too, for some.
Fan-Preferred Couple: Zib/Mitzi, otherwise known as "Zibzi". This would appear to leave Mitzi's canon squeeze Wick out in the cold, but he's got a backup in the form of his maybe-maybe-not romantic tension with assistant Lacy—a well-liked ship in its own right.
Foe Yay: Serafine and Mordecai, according to some.
- Also Viktor and Mordecai.
  - Take a look at drunk Mordecai if you aren't convinced.
  - Viktor and Mordecai aren't quite on board with the fandom.
Fridge Horror: The events taking place in the comic start in 1927. Most of the characters are in their 20s or 30s, meaning if they don't get killed due to their profession, they get to have some fun during The Great Depression. This is hinted at in a doodle of Wick with the caption "October 1929".
Ho Yay/ Foe Yay: some fans have seen Subtext for this with Viktor and Mordecai.
- Even lampshaded in a forum Q & A comic.
Memetic Badass: According to the more hyperactive of forumgoers, Viktor Vasko is the new Chuck Norris.
Memetic Sex Goddesses: Ivy, Mitzi, and Serafine, according to the fans. One could definitely argue that Mitzi is this In-Universe.
- Probably Zib, too. In the words of at least one fan, "Yes, Zib, you are just that pretty."
- Also Viktor. Though that has more to do with his Memetic Badass status than his attractiveness...much of the time, anyway.
Nightmare Fuel: Rocky pulls some... interesting expressions in this page.
- His cousin takes after him.
  - It's even more terrifying when he's less fuzzy.

Tear Jerker: Mitzi refused to sell the pearl necklace that her late husband gave her, because it's all she has left of him. Needless to say it is promptly broken as she desperately scrambles across the street trying to save it.
- And let's not forget about Zib, who realizes than Mitzi is no longer the young, sweet and innocent Mary Ellen he used to know back in the days.
- And in Lackadaisy Haymaker, there's just something upsetting about the sight of Rocky with a massive gash in his head. For a character so prone to Amusing Injuries, seeing him take a blow played so deadly straight is pretty damn sad.
- Rocky's aunt pointing out that just because Freckle is the only person in the world who still trusts him isn't a good reason for Rocky to abuse that trust. She even suceeds in wiping the smirk off Rocky's face for a split second.
Title Confusion: More than a few people have referred to the comic as "Lackadaisy Cats." The comic's title is pretty clearly just "Lackadaisy," but "Cats" appears in the web address - hence the confusion.
Unkempt Beauty: Lacy. Observe: regular, tidy Lacy versus mussed hair Lacy (especially panels 8 & 14).
The Woobie: What we've been shown of Calvin so far. My God, he seriously needs a hug in this one.
- Rocky too. From the same page it's evident that for him, Failure Is the Only Option. But he doesn't let it get to him.
- Add Zib to the list.
- Viktor's had his fair share of bad luck in the comic and even before. What with the kneecapping and the shotgun wound. Ivy's also not particularly happy with him right now,which doesn't help Viktor much.
What Do You Mean It's Not for Kids?: Unless you think murdering bootlegging psycho kitties are a good role model for your children.
