During the events of Rance Quest Magnum, Free Cities Alliance's merchant and unofficial leader Copandon Dott helped Rance to built a large castle all for himself, out of love for him. Its capacity can be up to 256 people, with ten living rooms for daily activities and meal. Furthermore, maids are available to the owner's needs. By the time of Rance X, several people settled down in Rance Castle, some choosing to live with him, or in search of protection, or simply working for him.

Athena 2.0

An artifial human created by the Witch Frostvine in Rance IV. She's actually the second version of the aptly named Athena 1.0, whose intelligence was similar to a real human. However, she fell in love with a Ham Barbara and both eloped soon after.

2.0 was designed to be less intelligent but still able to act as a useful familiar and toy for children. She was finally created thanks to the help of Rance, however his Imperial Juice got mixed into the creation, altering the process: Athena 2.0 was born with a very low intelligence, but a wide range of abilities, including combat. Despite this, Rance decided to keep her as a pet, and eventually was allowed to live in his house, and later the Rance Castle.

Tropes exhibited by Athena 2.0 include:

  • Artificial Human: She's a homonculus created by Frostvine, and the second version of the Athena series.
  • Attention Deficit Ooh Shiny: Because of her low intelligence she easily gets distracted by everything, especially ladybugs and beetles. As seen in Rance 5D, it can also prevent her to attack at all.
  • Cloudcuckoolander: Lives in her own little world, to the dismay of everyone around her.
  • Curtains Match the Window: Orange hair for orange eyes.
  • The Ditz: She is by far the most simple-minded character of the series.
  • Genius Ditz: Aside from her intelligence issues, she's able to make accurate calculations and maps, and she has a very high eyesight and sense of smell compared to humans.
  • Mix-and-Match Man: She was created from the combination of the essences of an Angel and a Devil.
  • Odd Friendship: She ends up befriending Tourin Sanada, the most skilled strategist of Nippon, of all people.
  • Unskilled but Strong: Has a staggering Level Cap 1 but she's stronger than the average human, meaning she doesn't need to train but at the same time, she can't get stronger at all.
  • Younger Than She Looks: Since she was created in Rance IV, she's technically 5 by Rance X.

Sanakia Drelshkaf

Sanakia was a knight from for now-destroyed Kingdom of Dallas roughly 200 years ago. She went on an expedition in the floating island of Ylapu, but was captured and kept in statis until the events of Rance IV. After being rescued by Rance, she joined the Ice Flame group in Rance VI and eventually became one of his companions of adventure. While she first hated Rance due to his perverted and brutish attitude, she eventually softens up, acknowledging his qualities as a warrior after witnessing him saving the country of Zeth. By the time of Rance Quest, she became the Captain of the Rance Castle Guard.

Despite her average Level Cap of 22, she trains hard to better herself, and shows some good abilities of a Tactician, along with being one of the rare persons to have Rance teach her his SignatureMove Rance Attack.

Rocky Bank

The first companion Rance meets in the Slave Arena of Zeth in Rance VI. Resigned to a life of servitude in Zeth, he is saved by Rance and plead his ever-lasting loyalty to him, effectively making him his second slave. Since then, he followed him thorough his time as the Ice Flame leader, often bullied by him. Nonetheless, his travels in Zeth progressively changed his opinions of Mages, and he quickly made his place among the companions of the brutal warrior and the orphanage, looking to him as an older brother of sorts.

After the events of Rance VI, he's seen again in Rance Quest, joining Rance in his adventures once again, while living in the outskirts of Rance Castle, trying to get allowed in.
