Rebecca Mayes Muses
Rebecca Mayes Muses is a young British gamer musician (a one-woman band, even!). Starting out on GamerPeople, she is one of the more recent shows/entertainers on the video game webzine The Escapist.
Her act consists of mostly writing a weekly song review of a game. At first, they were just songs but now she shoots a (mostly) live-action music video for the review with her friends, interlaced with clips from the game itself. She also will write songs exploring a theme in video games, like body image, villains you love to hate, retro gaming and her opinion (Take That/What the Hell, Hero?) on Yahtzee's (which is also on The Escapist) brand of humor.

- Flame War: A snippy, passive-aggressive, perfectly British Twitter-feud sparked between her and Yahtzee for a brief skirmish. Their fans,(all registered on the Escapist,[[[More Dakka]] however]])
- No Export for You: Being a British gamer means a lot of the games she can get her hands on are delayed or never to be because of how releases are handled over there/local politics. Guess who else has the sameproblem)?
- Something Completely Different: "Bloodhound", which is done in the stills style of a Zero Punctuation review. It looks very close to the real deal, except Yahtzee's author avatar looks slightly smaller (which maybe intentional). She also makes a Yahztee version of herself.
- Squick: Probably a case of unintentional irony but in "Bloodhound", the giant cursive E in the "Escapist" logo is stenciled over the video. The bottom part curls and juts forward from Yahztee's midsection as she delivers a thisiswhyyousuck speech to him from a stage. It extends right through his hand and it looks like, well just go to 2:54.
- Take That: "Bloodhound", to Yahtzee and a general dislike of Gorn in video games.
- Tear Jerker: "Death and the Spaceship" (Mass Effect 2) and "Fight" (Modern Warfare 2)
- "The Reason You Suck" Speech: "Bloodhound" to Yahztee and the more childish/misogynist/hetero-normative aspects of gamer culture. Also, lol penis.
- Video Game Cruelty Potential and Video Game Caring Potential: Rebecca sings about Batman: Arkham Asylum and how the player cannot kill anybody. Which makes sense for Batman.
- Her Resident Evil 5 song is called "Don't Shoot Them" [zombies] and contains lyrics like "its not their fault/don't kill them/try to hug them/and hold them instead."
