"Ooh, baby, you couldn't have done a worse thing to me
If you had taken an arrow and drove it right through me
Oooooh..."

My sister Sue, and me were doing stunts with electric trains
She said she'd do my dishes so I handed her the reigns (handed her the reigns)
And she engineered a collision steered by a hand-eye protege
As my train set started burning, I heard my sister say:
Look straight at the coming disaster

  • Mozart's Rondo Alla Turca and Eine Kleine Nachtmusik.
    • Queen of the Night, from Mozart's The Magic Flute. Making it much worse is that you don't possibly have a hope of singing along unless you're an absurdly high-voiced soprano or sucking helium, yet you'll want to.
  • The Misfits were quite good at making you sing horrifying lyrics over and over again.
    • Ever hear Skulls? go ahead and click, if you want to sing about chopping little girls head's off all day...
    • HATEBREEDERS WHOOAAAHOOOO!
    • Well, I got somethin to say/I killed a baby today/And it doesn't matter much to me/as long as it's dead.
    • With just a touch of my burning hand, send my Astro Zombies to rape the land! Prime directive: EXTERMINATE THE WHOLE HUMAN RACE!
  • The Cha-Cha Slide by Mr. C The Slide Man. Try and fail not to do the dance along with the music!
  • Jason Mraz:
  • Münchener Freiheit (those guys who did the incredibly catchy Keeping The Dream Alive) tend to turn out songs which are earworms, even to those (such as me) who don't understand a word of German. Nearly all the songs on Fantasie/Fantasy and Definitive Collection are earworms, including their cover of Bob Dylan's Baby Blue (in German).
    • I had the chorus stuck in my head for six years. It did not help not knowing the language it was in. Listened to it three times in a row when I finally learnt its name. Still have it stuck, but know at least I can sing along.
  • Mungo Jerry: "In the summertime when the weather is hot, you can chase right up and touch the sky..." An example of an awesome Ear Worm.
  • My Chemical Romance:
    • Blood. That is all. (I once found myself teaching it to my entire summer camp after singing it one too many times in public. * twitchy twitch* )
    • ...Give them blood, blood, gallons of the stuff, give them all that they can drink and it will never be enough, so give them blood, blood, blllooooooOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHDDDDDD... *gasp*...I'M THE KINDA HUMAN WRECKAGE THATCHA LOVE!
    • Anyone who's played Guitar Hero 2 will agree with me that Dead is an even bigger ear worm, and those that have played Burnout 3 will say I'm Not Okay (I Promise) is even bigger than that.
      • You're deeeeeeead!!! We heard the news that you're de-e-ead! No one ever had much nice to say! Think I never liked you anyway...
    • "Helena"..."So long and goodnight..."
    • I see that and raise you a "Teenagers"
    • WHEN I WAS
    • "At the end of the world, or the last thing I see, you are never comin' home..."
    • I wouldn't front the scene if you paid me! I'm just the way that the doctor made me!
      • Haaaaleluuuujah LOCK AND LOAD
    • 'Mama, we all go to hell...'
      • SO RAISE YOUR GLASS HIGH FOR TOMORROW WE DIE
    • You're so cool, you're so cool, so cool!
      • We allllllll wanna party when the funeral ends! Ba ba ba, ba ba ba...
    • From the recent trailer for Danger Days: NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA...
      • DESTROYA DESTROYA DESTROYA DESTROYA
    • CLEAN ME OFF! I'M SO DIRTY BABE! The kind of dirty where the water never cleans off the clothes...
    • Gravity...don't mean too much to me...
    • THIS AIN'T A PARTY, GET OFF THE DANCE FLOOR, YOU WANT THE GET DOWN, HERE COMES THE GANG WAR!
    • "Sing it for the boys, sing it for the girls"
    • Are you ready for a firefight? 'Cause the devil's got your number tonight...
  • I wonder if it is possible to listen to Shikenkan Baby, Itoshii Hito, WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD, Jibun Kakumei, or Papamama Nozomare nu Baby by Miyavi without singing or humming them later. All of the above will either cause you to start frantically reciting choruses over and over or loudly singing deceptively victorious-sounding tunes as you walk down the street.
  • Massive Attack, especially the music riffs for 'Angel' and 'Teardrop'.
  • MONKEEY VER-SUS ROOOBOT. Very, very hard to stop singing this out loud.
  • Matt and Kim's "Daylight" can be brought on my random mentioning of the band's name and will stick around for days, during which point frequent bouts of smiling are common, until it causes death. Yes, that's right, indie pop shall be the death of you.
    • Also, there's "Cameras"
  • Lapfox Trax: Three words: DUM DUM DIDAY.
    • Pretty much everything under Mayhem is this. You're getting at least one song digitally engraved into you brain. Guaranteed!
  • The Medic Droid: Kick off your stilettos, kick off your stilettos, and fuck me in the back seat, FUCK ME IN THE BACK SEAT~
  • The Move: "Flowers in the Rain", "Fire Brigade", "I Can Hear the Grass Grow" etc.
  • Miracle of Sound: Gavin Dunne has admitted that he spends a lot of time writing the "hook" to each song.
  • My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic's Smile, Smile, Smile.

N

O

  • "Elvira" by The Oak Ridge Boys. By the end of the song, I guarantee you'll be singing "giddy up ba oom papa oom papa mow mow" in the deepest voice you can muster.
  • Oasis:
    • "And maybeeeeeeeee...you're gonna be the one that saves meeeeeeeee....and after aaaaaaaaaall...you're my wonderwaaaaaaaaaall..."
    • Th 50s lounge singer version is even worse/better.
    • Someday you will find me, caught beneath the landsliiiiiiide, in a champagne supernova in the skyyyyyyyy...
    • And sooooooooooooooooooooo Sally can waaaaaaaait...
    • I need to be myself... * guitar* I can't be no one else...
    • Go let it out, go let it in...
    • I'm all into the blinding light, come in, come out tonight...
    • The summer sun, it blows my mind, fallin' down on all that I ever know...
  • The Offspring:
    • "Why Don't You Get A Job" (already mentioned in the Beatles entry), "Self Esteem," "Come Out and Play" (YOU GOTTA KEEP 'EM SEPARATED!), "All I Want" (double for Crazy Taxi players), and "Pretty Fly (For a White Guy)".
    • "With a thousand lies and a good disguise, hit 'em right between the eyes, hit 'em right between the eyes..."
      • It's even worse if you have the "Dance, fuckers, dance" line stuck in your head, because then you can't sing it aloud without getting funny looks.
        • This is one of the few songs where the radio edit actually works. Sing it right and it remains nicely rhythmic and doesn't sound like anything's missing.
    • What about their song "One Fine Day"? That's one another that'll grow on you over time.
      • I BELIEVE IT'S MY GOD-GIVEN RIGHT! TO DESTROY EVERYTHING IN MY SIGHT!
    • I WANT YOU ALL TATTOOED, I WANT YOU BAD, BAD, BAD! COMPLICATED, X-RATED...
    • I'M NOT THE ONE WHO ACTED LIKE A HOE, WHY MUST I BE THE ONE WHO HAS TO KNOW?
    • HEY, MAN, YOU DISRESPECTING ME? TAKE HIM OUT (YOU GOTTA KEEP EM SEPARATED)
    • YAH YAH YAH YAH YAH, IT'S ALL I WANT!
    • AND IT FEELS, AND IT FEELS LIKE HEAVEN IS SO FAR AWAY...

  • Ohio Express: Yummy yummy yummy I got love in my tummy and I feel like a-lovin' you!
  • Ohio Players
    • "Love Rollercoaster".
    • "Fire".
  • Oingo Boingo
    • Little Girls. "I love little girls, they make me feel so... good!"
      • It's even more disturbing to hear Patrick Stewart singing that song. Thank you very much, American Dad.
    • "I was struck by lightning..." * sax* "walking down the street..."
    • Despite the Creator Backlash against it, "Weird Science" is pretty darn catchy.
    • "Only a Lad", thanks to Guitar Hero Rocks the 80s.
  • OK Go - "Here It Goes Again" * That song with the music video of the band members dancing on treadmills. "Here it goes here it goes here it goes again, oh hear it goes again, I shoulda known shoulda known shoulda known again, oh here it goes again!" You can see the video here.
  • One Direction:
    • "YOU DON'T KNOW YOU'RE BEAUTIFUL!"
    • "YOU'VE GOT THAT ONE THING!"
    • In fact, their whole first album is basically a huge, incessant earworm.
  • OutKast:
    • "Mrs. Jackson" will plague you with its chorus, the catchiest part of the song and coincidentally the only part that sticks in your head. Although sometimes instead it may just be a loop of "Forever... Forever ever? Forever ever?" lodged in your brain, well, forever.
    • "Hey Ya!" is even worse.
      • Shake it like a corduroy ninja! (I witnessed the birth of that mondegreen.)
        • "Ain't no thang like a chicken wang"

      • "HELLO SEATTLE, I AM A MOUNTAINEER..."
    • "WHAT WILL IT TAKE TO MAKE OR BREAK THIS HINT OF LOVEEEEE? ONLY TIMEEEE ONLY TIIIMMEEEEE"
  • Ozzy Osbourne:
  • Emily Osment:
  • Damn you, Germans! With your Octoberfest you lull us in a false sense of security... JUST TO STRIKE WITH MUSIC THAT YOU WILL NEVER FORGET! ...Anton, Anton, Anton, Anton, Anton!
    • Heeey, hey baby! UH! AH! I want to knooooow...
  • Mike Oldfield, anyone? Come on, I know you're all hearing the opening riff from Tubular Bells now.
  • Anything recorded by Odyssey Music is major Ear Worm Material.
