  • The Halloween(?) dance includes couples dressed as Frankenstein's Monster and his bride, Gomez and Morticia Addams, Jack Skellington and Sally, The Phantom of the Opera and Christine, Chuckie and Tiffany (from Child's Play), and Victor Van Dort and Emily (from Corpse Bride). (Of course, given that the world of Erma has no small amount of magic in it, some of those couples might be the real deal.)
  • "The Rats in the School Walls Part 20": The answers in the security guard's crossword puzzle are "Klaatu", "Barada", and .. we know it's an "N" word.
  • Erma has l33t Cube Skills, honed on puzzle boxes.
  • Erma is reading, not mourning, but the raven is just as annoying. On purpose.
  • The 2017 Halloween animation shows that the children attend Blairwood Elementary School
