Dawson Casting: Most of the actors are older than their characters. Bridgit Mendler is about 3 years older than Teddy, Jason Dolly is about 2 years older than PJ, When the show first started Gabe was supposed to be 10 making Bradley Steven Perry 2 years older. Amy and Bob were supposed to be high school sweethearts. Leigh Allyn-Baker was 37 when the show first started and Eric Allan Kramer was about 10 years older. Gabe and Charlie are around the same age as their actors portraying them—give or take one year.

  - Bridgit Mendler rose to fame as Juliet, Justin Russo's vampire girlfriend on Wizards of Waverly Place. This is also not the first time her and Samantha Boscarino (Skyler) have played friends.
  - Leigh-Allyn Baker is best known to Disney Channel viewers as Mickey, one of the co-hosts of "The Mack and Mickey Show", a husband and wife-hosted Show Within a Show that featured in two episodes of Hannah Montana. She may also be remembered as Ellen from Will and Grace, or Hannah Webster of Charmed.
  - Bradley Steven Perry would later play Roger, Sharpay's rival turned ally in Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure.
  - Eric Allan Kramer is probably best known as Little John in Robin Hood: Men in Tights, Bear (The guy Stifler has a dance off with) in the third American Pie film, and as Coach Gunderson in Wizards of Waverly Place.
  - Jason Dolley is a veritable Disney Channel icon, starring in many Disney Channel original movies, and the original series Cory in The House.

I Am Not Spock: Disney Channel in the UK has taken to advertising Minutemen and Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure as featuring "PJ/Gabe from Good Luck Charlie" as opposed to actually naming Jason Dolley & Bradley Steven Perry.
Irony as She Is Cast: PJ is dimwitted and a poor guitarist, but Jason Dolley had a 4.0 GPA in high school and is able to play guitar and piano.
Missing Episode: "Down a Tree", the episode featuring the controversial same-sex couple, was skipped in its run in Latin America and Brazil. Oddly enough, the episode was dubbed in Spanish and aired on Disney Channel US's alternate audio track. It wasn't aired in Russia either.
Romance on the Set: Bridgit and Shane Harper (Spencer Walsh) are a Real Life couple, and apparently a very strong one at that.
Write Who You Know: In the episode "Return to Super Adventure Land", Gabe says that the mom they got to replace Amy for the commercial looks more like his mom than Amy does. One sure hopes she would - that's Kimberly Perry, Bradley Steven Perry's Real Life mom!
- Samantha Boscarino (Skyler) has been Bridgit Mendler's best friend since they were 13 (Samantha got Bridgit into the singing and acting business in the first place).
Written-In Infirmity: Amy's pregnancy at the end of Season 2 is because of Leigh Allyn Baker's real life pregnancy.
