- Actor Allusion: Liam Neeson has to meet some slave-traders whose base of operations is called "Paradise."
- Dawson Casting: 25-year-old Maggie Grace as 17-year-old Kim n the first movie. She's 29 in the sequel which is supposed to have happened two years later.
- Fake Nationality:
- Irish Liam Neeson plays an American.
- Dutchwoman Famke Janssen plays an American.
- Rade Serbedzija is a Croatian Serb and plays an Albanian in the sequel.
- In the sequel there is not a single Albanian, because they found the movie to be offensive and disregarded the old and sacred revenge tradition. All the Albanians are played by Kurds, because even the Turks did not want a part in it.
- Fan Nickname: In some circles, the film itself is known as "Throat Punch: The Movie".
- Hey, It's That Guy:
- Broots as a badass ex-special-forces guy.
- It's no wonder Kimmy got kidnapped considering her step dad is Percy.
- On the other hand, try picturing Liam Neeson as Qui-Gon Jinn, Ra'as Al'Ghul, your dad, Godfrey, or Jesus (aka. "Qui'Ghulfrey Jesus"), and the whole movie just becomes even more awesome.
- Not to mention Michael Collins, an Irish hero during the War Of Independence. Yes, somebody has done a brief re-cut using the dialogue from Taken. And yes, it is awesome.
- How has NOBODY mentioned that Liam Neeson was Oskar Schindler?? The whole time I was watching, that thing, y'know, about how "Whoever saves one life saves the world entire", was echoing in my head in a mean way.
- Wow, Trish Wellington's been having a bad couple of years!
- Hey, it's Ruby from Supernatural!
- Bryan's bitchy ex-wife is Jean Grey!
- Who is also married to George Mason!
- Marko is Death Eater Antonin Dolohov!
- Uncle Rico is one of Bryan's CIA buddies.
- Brian's over-protectiveness of his daughter is understandable. The last time she went overseas unsupervised, the return plane crashed on a weird island.
