It's been a year since anything was done with it other than two examples being added.

The last call to launch failed to get sufficient votes.

So, for the last time, I call for votes to launch. If it fails to launch this time, it's going to be tossed.

I don't think it's launchable, the description is too vague. I mean, when this one first came up I remember considering putting the game Detroit: Become Human on it (the game's menu has an Interactive Narrator whose behavior and actions depend on what you say to her) but I'm not sure whether or not this would count as a bona-fide sub-plot. And what about loading screens? If that's the case, Bayonetta certainly counts, but not if it's simply a title screen.

GethN7 (talkcontribs)

If we can't hang more flesh off the skeleton, cremate it.

RivetVermin (talkcontribs)

Seeing as Umbire doesn't appear to be active, I've removed the line of theirs we were previously debating, rewritten in description and removed an example that doesn't really fit. Does anyone have any more examples? I'm sure there were a few I half-remember from the CDI.

Ilikecomputers (talkcontribs)

I've done some really minor fixes. Not really satisfied with the state of the page, but I think launching is at least better than tossing, so count this as a reluctant "yes" vote.

Jlaw (talkcontribs)

Voting to launch.

Jlaw (talkcontribs)

I've added three non-video game examples and thinking of more.

RivetVermin (talkcontribs)

I also vote to launch

Kuma (talkcontribs)

I vote to launch, too.

GentlemensDame883 (talkcontribs)

Sorry for not getting to this earlier - was out of town - but the page now looks meaty enough to me that I'm voting to launch too.

Robkelk (talkcontribs)

I was about to launch the page, but I noticed that the description has a "Laconic" line at the end. I'd rather not take the credit for creating the Laconic subpage for the trope; could somebody -- preferably whoever added the line to the page originally -- move that line to a Laconic subpage, please?

This isn't a launch-stopper, it's just me wanting to see credit where credit is due.

Looney Toons (talkcontribs)

@Robkelk, looks like whoever it was either doesn't care or hasn't noticed. I'd say go ahead with the launch.

Robkelk (talkcontribs)

Launched, but not yet entry-pimped (except for the anime example).

HeneryVII (talkcontribs)

Vote to launch.

What is the line "Generally occurs as Video Game Tropes" in the main description actually supposed to be? It doesn't make much sense as-is.

EDIT: Oh, and I added an example I knew of, which I guess resets the six-month clock. But it has twelve examples and a bare minimum description (not sure how to make it longer without obvious padding, though). It just needs another category or two, I would think. If that confusing sentence and the categories are addressed, I'd give a yes vote.

Looking at the page history, I see that there are only three other people who have worked on the page. One of them had to have written this. I'm pinging them all.

Finally taking a look at this. It looks like it's primarily a Video Game trope - should the Video Game subsection headers be added to the page?

Looney Toons (talkcontribs)

That makes sense. Yes.

Robkelk (talkcontribs)

Done. (Finally. Apologies for the delay.)

Somebody who knows video games needs to sort the video game examples into the subsections.

Umbire the Phantom (talkcontribs)

I can do that much.
