And the Fandom Rejoiced: This is basically the entire planet's response to the notion of the Marvel Universe put on film. So far, the films haven't disappointed.
- The original post-credits stinger for Iron Man likely caused many fans to wet their pants in excitement: "Think you're the only superhero in the world?"
- Also, the casting of Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury. Marvel fans will know that the Nick Fury of the "Ultimate Marvel" universe was specifically designed based on his mannerisms, years before the Iron Man movies.
  - Actually Jackson allowed them to use his image if and only if he got to play Nick Fury when the started making Marvel movies.
- The Avengers teaser after Captain America: The First Avenger.
- Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, too.
- The Avengers, period.
- Announced projects that Marvel has confirmed an interest in and even some progress on include Ant-Man, Doctor Strange, The Inhumans and the Guardians of the Galaxy (2008 team).
Complete Monster: Johan Schmidt was one even before his transformation, as shown in the Captain America: First Vengeance comics.
- Obadiah Stane A.K.A Iron Monger.
Draco in Leather Pants: Loki, oh so much.
Ensemble Darkhorse:
- SHIELD Agent Phil Coulson, aka "SON OF COUL!" So far he's gotten two separate one-shot short films starring him as features on two of the movie DVDs, his own digital comic spotlight issue, and an Earth-616 counterpart. On top of that, even Joss Whedon himself likes the character (and actor) and has given the character a lot to do in The Avengers. Such as die. Hey, it's Whedon; he tends to kill people we like.
- Also, Darcy (from Thor) and Hawkeye (who had a cameo in Thor and will be one of the Avengers).
- And as of The Avengers, the Hulk has become something of a smash hit among viewers.
Hilarious in Hindsight: Maria from The Avengers is played by Robin from How I Met Your Mother, which caused some fans to giggle- Marvel has Robin, but Batman doesn't (Christian Bale and Christopher Nolan both banned him from appearing in The Dark Knight Trilogy, under the assumption that his character was what caused Batman and Robin to tank).
Memetic Mutation: Fans apparently think the story in Norse Mythology about Loki shape-shifting into a horse and ending up pregnant is hilarious, and has become an endless source of fanart jokes.
- Nick Fury = Demoman. Both are badass black men with eyepatches.
- TONY STARK BUILT THIS IN A CAVE WITH A PILE OF SCRAPS.
- Ivan Vanko's "Vhere ees my burd? I vant my burd." from Iron Man 2.
They Changed It, Now It Sucks: Some people object to the race changing of Heimdall and Nick Fury.
Iron Woobie: Bruce Banner and Tony Stark.
Jerkass Woobie: Loki. He may be a homicidal, Axe Crazy megalomaniac, but it's very hard not to feel some sympathy for him, especially in Thor.
Magnificent Bastard: Loki, Big Time.
- Whiplash is good at it in Iron Man 2 as well.
- YMMV, but Red Skull might count as well.
