Alex Jones is a Texan far-right radio host and Conspiracy Theorist. He hosts The Alex Jones Show on radio and runs InfoWars on the web.

Among the many Conspiracy Theories he holds and promotes, he purports that the elite is plotting to kill us all any minute now via vaccines, food, fluoride and pretty much everything, really. He's also the guy who snuck into Bohemian Grove and recorded a video which he claims shows the world Elite about to sacrifice a baby to Molech (yeah, about that...). He's also a 9/11 truther who, if you believe everything he's said over the years, believes that the US military trained the pilots who crashed the planes into the Twin Towers and that the planes weren't real.

On top of numerous legal issues - both from his estranged wife, who alleged him to have been of questionable sanity (something that isn't doubtful considering his erratic and irrational behaviour), and those whom he accused of being "in" on certain conspiracies (e.g., families of Sandy Hook shooting victims including social activist Leonard Pozner, whose son was murdered in the attack), Jones has since been branded a pariah by mainstream social media and internet services, namely Facebook, Apple, YouTube, Spotify, Periscope and Roku, largely for promoting hate speech and inciting violence against people of other faiths and ethnicities. PayPal has also barred him from conducting business transactions. The official InfoWars mobile apps were removed from the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store, in the latter case only in March 2020 because of lies and misinformation Jones circulated about the COVID-19 pandemic. Similar crackdowns were made on YouTube channels and mobile apps either associated with Jones or mirroring any content from his site.

In light of the 2021 United States Capitol riots, it was reported by the Washington Post that the FBI was investigating Jones' role in influencing the domestic terror groups Proud Boys and Oath Keepers in the incursion. In addition, judges have ruled against Alex Jones in all four of the defamation lawsuits tied to his Sandy Hook claims. In December 2022, Jones filed for personal bankruptcy, which turned into a Chapter 7 bankruptcy requiring him to liquidate all of his personal assets — including his personal stake in Infowars — to pay off the defamation lawsuits.

Alex Jones provides examples of the following tropes:

• Catch Phrase: "You can't make this up, people!"
• Cloudcuckoolander: But he's a "performance artist", right?
• Conspiracy Theorist: A rather famous one.
• Did Not Do the Research: He claims that the guys at Bohemian Grove were sacrificing a baby to the god Molech. The statue which he claims represents Molech is an owl. Molech is a man with the head of a bull, and the "baby" is an effigy which is supposed to represent the "dull cares of conscience".
• Divided States of America: Famously claimed the Democrats would start a second American Civil War on July 4th, 2018. When the date passed without incident, the internet and Twitter exploded with memes mocking his ill-conceived prediction.
• Everyone Has Standards: While Alex is pretty much infamous for his rabid conspiracism, he did for once expressed contempt for Adolf Hitler, and (somewhat) condemned the likes of Nick Fuentes and Kanye West for admiring Hitler, further claiming how his grandfather witnessed atrocities of concentration camps when liberating Europe.
• Everything Trying to Kill You: Alex thinks that just about everything is part of a massive global conspiracy by the Elite to kill off the little people. And now, juice boxes are apparently part of the conspiracy, as well.
• False-Flag Operation: Notoriously claimed the Sandy Hook shootings was a hoax perpetrated by “crisis actors” in a broad scheme to trample on Second Amendment rights. Given the lawsuits that resulted and the media platforms he's been kicked off of, it seems this was one time he crossed the line and was unable to do so "twice".
  • Also, Jones is so nuts that many other Conspiracy Theorists who believe in New World Order scenarios have claimed he is pulling this type of thing on their behalf! Of course, he makes the same accusations towards them.
• Hair-Trigger Temper: Alex Jones himself.
• Identical Stranger: He looks a lot like Bill Hicks. This video postulates Bill faked his own death and is now Alex Jones.
• I'm a Humanitarian: During a protest in April 2020, he graphically expounded on how the food supply challenges of the Coronavirus crisis could require extreme measures, including cannibalism. Specifically, he claimed he would eat his neighbors if it meant keeping his daughters from starving.
• Insane Troll Logic: Exactly how he concludes that some of the things he reports about are evidence of an evil conspiracy is befuddling.
• I Shall Taunt You: He tries this on people, presumably so he can sue them if they react.
• Guttural Growler: One of his more distinguishing physical traits is an extremely coarse, raspy voice.
• Hypocrite: While Jones loudly complains about being censored, he either ignored or forgot to read the terms of service that appear on his own Infowars website:

Terms of Service: You will not post anything libelous, defamatory, harmful, threatening, harassing, abusive, invasive of another's privacy, hateful, racially or ethnically objectionable, or otherwise illegal. Remember: you are a guest here. It is not censorship if you violate the rules and your post is deleted.

• For all his delusional claims about shadowy cabals of elites trying to organize acts of mass violence, he helped cause a real one - as in 2021 it emerged that Jones helped fund and organize the January 6 "Stop the Steal" rally that ultimately led to the infamous Capitol riots.

• Kill'Em All: The goal of the Elite, according to Alex.
• Large Ham: So much that fellow ham Cenk Uygur was amused at his behavior.
• Media Research Failure: His "review" of the film Watchmen.
• Persona Non Grata: Mounting pressure from victims of mass shootings along with Jones's tendency to sow discord against minorities and people of other faiths forced social media outlets and web services to permanently ban Jones and InfoWars. Facebook, Apple, YouTube, Spotify, Periscope, Roku and Twitter removed all of Jones's accounts and content posted by him or his affiliates, to name a few. Online payment service PayPal wanted nothing to do with him either. The official InfoWars mobile apps were also removed from the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. The Other Tropes Wiki also banned his article from being made, as the site deemed him untropeable (despite having a similar article on fellow conspiracy theorist David Icke).
  • One of his fans who was caught making death threats to the parents of Sandy Hook victims was forbidden from ever logging onto InfoWars as part of her plea bargain.
  • Even worse for Jones, after Elon Musk acquired Twitter, many banned accounts belonging to controversial posters (including that of Donald Trump) were reinstated, but Jones' was not. Musk's brief public statement regarding this was, “My firstborn child died in my arms. I felt his last heartbeat. I have no mercy for anyone who would use the deaths of children for gain, politics or fame.”
• Stealth Parody: Possibly used against him in the rotoscoped film Waking Life. In it, he is shown yelling one of his monologues over a car loudspeaker, while the animation slowly increases his skin hue to brighter, darker shades of red. This could just be a simple exaggeration used in many pieces of animation, or a reference to the imprisoned psychopath who is shown in the same way earlier in the movie while he loudly and publicly devises the most harmful and painful way to kill the people who got him into prison in the first place.
• Too Soon: He has defied this notion many times:
  • Carrie Fisher had been dead for only a couple of hours before Jones did a show claiming she had been murdered to boost ticket sales of The Force Awakens. It didn't go over well.
  • Still, he had enough decency to wait a day after Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg's death before claiming she had died in a "blood sacrifice" to get out the vote for Democrats.
  • Worst of all, his accusations against the parents of Sandy Hook victims started a day after the tragedy happened.
• We ARE Struggling Together!: An attempted collaboration with fellow conspiracy loony Jeff Rense resulted in a very vicious falling out between the two, mainly because both of them suspected the other of being a double agent for the "other side".
