Dangerous Detour: The Old World/Characters

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

Jaryl Garen

"I thought so..."

drawn by siekfried

Main Character, anthropomorphic wolf and Narrator. He's got a dragon-head plate in his possession, which he wants to sell to a curiousity-collector.

"Now just keep your mouth shut, fucking wanker! It's not Jins fault for being left in the lurch by his parents, that's why I adopted him! And if someone has to die, then it's going to be you!"

Jin

A sixteen year old dragon. He had been abandoned by his parents several years before the start of the story, and now accompanies Jaryl, too in search of a place to live.

Shelly

"Aw, you don't want to tell him the whole story?", Shelly reckons, then she looks at me with a fat grin on her face and whispers into my ear: "Or are those things we did back then too embarrassing for you?"

Jaryls girlfriend, a Panther-Woman, which he hadn't met since two years. Nothing much is known of her past, but it's been stated that she, like Jaryl, was in a mercenary-group.

Nathan

"Well, it's easy: We're bringing their plan to a standstill"

drawn by siekfried

A dragon who deserted from the army of his clan and is now trying to kill their King in order to stop the obliteration of the other races.

  • Brown Eyes
  • Depending on the Artist: He also suffers a bit under this, but rather mainly concerning his head and how many "fins" he has or how they look. On his newest artwork (shown to the right), they even look like fins from a fish, but that doesn't really detract from his appearance, it rather gives him a different look from the norm.
  • Good Old Fisticuffs: Didn't even bother to use his firebreath when he killed the other dragon.
  • Kill Steal: Killed the dragon Jaryl himself was currently trying to mortally stab. Jaryl puts this appropiately:

Nathan himself is very muscular and athletic, I'm getting a little bit envious... w-well, anyway, I should stop thinking about that and give him an answer to his question.

  • The Big Guy: Well, it's obvious, since he's a dragon.
  • The Nicknamer: Though Jaryl is, so far, his only victim, whom he is calling "Redeye".
