A bear, a bear-like creature, or someone who incorporates a bearish motif undeniably adorable can be said to be Beary Cute. A prime example are panda bears, as they are known to pander to the audience. Most of the characters are friendly to others or just very funny.

Contrast with Bears are Bad News, which shows the more violent nature of bears.

  • Snuggle Bear is the mascot for the Snuggle brand; the bear is not only cute but also soft to show how good the brand's fabric softener works.

Anime and Manga

  • Super Kuma-san, alter ego of Kuma-san, is a living teddy bear who acts as a superhero in a quaint town to bring justice and peace. He also does dances to music with the park clown to bring children joy.
  • Rilakuma and Kaoru, are teddy bear creatures who live in an apartment with a salary woman named Kaoru. They often laze around the house and eat snacks, especially honey pancakes, but do give some relief in Kaoru's day-to-day life.
  • Mofurun, from Mahou Tsukai Pretty Cure, was an average teddy bear, but thanks to magic, she came to life. She can sense magic and the Linkle Stones and acts as the duo's transforming into Pretty Cure with the help of a Linkle Stone. In the movie, Mofurun becomes a Cure herself with a bear motif with the Wishing Stone's help.
  • Enforced in Killing Bites, the Giant Panda Brute, Wang Aizhen, uses her cuteness to appeal to the audience. Wang uses a panda's adorable characteristics while showing the same strength and brutality of a bear combined with her martial arts expertise.
  • Symbolized in Yuri Kuma Arashi, the bears and the lesbian relationships is a symbolic parallel of Japan's view of homosexuality with bears' depiction in popular media. Bears tend to have a cuteness to them in pop culture but are dangerous creatures in reality. Japan's view of lesbians, while having a large amount of media such as anime and manga with a positive outlook, but have trouble gaining acceptance within Japanese society.
  • Xiao-Mei, from Fullmetal Alchemist, is the small pet panda of May Chang while also being her traveling companion. Despite being so little, she is rather protective of May Chang and often mimics May's actions.
  • Kumamon, from Digimon Frontier, is Beastman Digimon that looks like a small bear made of snow in green armor and power over Ice.
  • Yuna, from Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear, was a hikikomori gets transported to another world with a set of bear equipment: a bear suit with bear hand puppets as weapons. The items look more like a costume, but they have overpowered stats and skills. Her magic is also potent when it takes a bear-like form.
  • Subverted with Bear-Man, from One Piece, a Gifter who has eaten the Bear SMILE Fruit. His form depicts the hybrid form of a Zoan Fruit while showing a rather adorable appearance. However, due to eating a SMILE Fruit, he still has his human face in the muzzle.
  • In BNA: Brand New Animal, The Bears are a baseball team of mostly Bear Beastmen in the Anima City Baseball League. They are rather cute and innocent but inexperienced in the game but find fun playing matches.

  • Lotso, from Toy Story 3, is a Lotso is a pink Lots-o'-Huggin' Bear with a friendly disposition and acts as the daycare's kind caretaker. His friendliness is a facade; he is villainous due to being abandoned by his owner then replaced by another Lots-o' Huggin' Bear. He lords over the Sunnyside Daycare like a prison where some toys administrate over others to deal with rowdy toddlers or face punishment.

  • Teddiursa, from Pokemon, is the Little Bear Pokemon that resembles a brown teddy bear with a crescent moon on its head and often feasting on honey.
    • Cubchoo, introduced in Generation V, is the Chill Pokemon that looks like an adorable white bear cub with mucus dripping from its snout.
    • Pancham, introduced in Generation VI, is the Playful Pokemon that resembles a little panda chewing on a leaf while emulating the behavior of Pangoro, the evolved form of Pancham.
    • Stufful, introduced in Generation VII, is the Flailing Pokemon that looks like a small pink quadruped teddy bear with extreme strength that can knock out well-trained Pokemon. Their evolved form, Bewear, is also adorable and resembles a Japanese mascot. They are rather friendly, but due to their massively increasing strength, its bad news for those they try to share their hugs.
    • Kubfu, introduced in Generation VIII, is the Wushu Pokemon that resembles a gray teddy bear with a white headband-hair who train their body and mind.
  • Clark Wonderbot, from Inazuma Eleven Go 2: Chrono Stone, is an android that looks like a blue teddy bear. Whenever Clark gets excited, he turns pink, which happens during soccer matches, plus he also dislikes being called a bear.
  • From Persona 4, Teddie is a bear-like creature that resembles a living mascot that the Investigation Team first meets in the Midnight Channel. It is later revealed that he was once a Shadow but developed into a form so that humans could like him more.
  • In Sands of Destruction (video game), there are two types of Bear Ferals where one type looks like humanoid bears and the other resemble teddy bears. Taupy Topuran is a Teddy Bear Feral who is cute but holds himself in a fight.
  • The Mana of Life, from Mana Khemia, inhabits and brings to life the teddy bear held by Pamela Ibis. The Mana made a contract with Pamela, which allows her to continue living as a ghost while providing her other powers.

  • 5.0.5, from Villainous, is a large blue bear with a yellow flower growing out of his head. He is a failed experiment created by Dr.Flug but shows invulnerability while helping anyone around him but can get scared relatively easily.
