Kaneto Shiozawa was once the go-to guy for soft-spoken Bishonen roles. If you notice any character that was voiced by him, chances are they might have a sudden change in composure at times. Yep, he can also flip his voice into crazy mode on a whim.
Sadly, in 2000 his career was cut short when he fell down the stairs in his home and died hours later of a severe concussion.
Notable roles from Shiozawa:
- Vega/Balrog in the Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie, Street Fighter IIV and Street Fighter EX series (currently Junichi Suwabe does the voice of Vega/Balrog as of Street Fighter IV).
- Zato-ONE/Eddie (replaced by Takehito Koyasu) and Dr. Baldhead in Guilty Gear (up until X, then he is replaced as Faust by Takashi Kondo)
- Rei in Fist of the North Star (replaced by Isshin Chiba in the arcade game, and by Shinichiro Miki in the Yuria Den OVA, and by Takehito Koyasu in Hokuto Musou/Ken's Rage.)
- Hyo Imawano in Rival Schools
- Paul von Oberstein in Legend of Galactic Heroes
- Auguste Beau in the Kaze to Ki no Uta OVA
- Prince Demand in Sailor Moon R
