Examples of Belligerent Sexual Tension in Western Animation include:
- Arnold and Helga from Hey Arnold!, at least on Helga's part.
- Grandpa Phil admitted to having a similar experience with a girl in his youth. The girl is Arnold's grandmother.
- Jimmy and Cindy of The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, with Jimmy's jerk-ness coming from being an Insufferable Genius, and Cindy who tries to be at least smarter than Jimmy.
- Linka and Wheeler of Captain Planet and the Planeteers.
- Lampshaded in one episode where Wheeler has an All Just a Dream scenario where the whole team has grown into their 40's and he's married to Linka... Who is also carrying his child.
- Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go!, Sprx being the Jerk with a Heart of Gold and Nova as the Tsundere. Sprx flirting and getting punched by Nova is one of the series' biggest running gags.
- Jonesy and Nikki of 6teen.
- Courtney and Duncan of Total Drama Island.
- Now including Heather and Alejandro in "Total Drama World Tour". Both have met their manipulative match and sparks are flying.
- Fin and Reef of Stoked.

- Gargoyles: According to Greg Weisman himself, Brooklyn and his mate Katana's relationship—at least early on—was discribed as a gargoyle version of Much Ado About Nothing's Beatrice and Benedick.
- He first described it as being like Sam and Diane's relationship. No one got it. So then he compared to Beatrice and Benedick, which everyone got. That should tell you something about the show's fans.
- KaBlam!: Henry and June.

- The original G1 Transformers episode: The Girl who Loved Powerglide featured the aforementioned Autobot in one of these with a human named Astoria Carlton-Ritz.

- Then there's the byplay between Kenobi and Asajj Ventress. One wonders what the two will do when trapped in an escape pod together.
- Xiaolin Showdown loves to use this with Raimundo and Kimiko. Constant friendly (or not so friendly) bickering, Kimiko's tendency to hit EVERYONE (especially Rai for picking on Omi), a random peck on the cheek or two...
- Though the only thing close to an Official Couple was Chase and Wuya. Who also fit this trope, albeit with more sneaking than hitting.
