Girls' Night Out

The police needed aid that could operate outside the system. And if Batman and the Justice League were too busy to do it, then someone else was going to have to.

Girls' Night Out is an ongoing Fanfic series by Chellerrific based in the universe of Greg Weisman's and Brandon Vietti's Young Justice cartoon. The first story in the series, Hunter & Hunted, focuses on Barbara Gordon and Bette Kane when they, for their own individual reasons, decide to become superheroes (as you do). An Interquel focusing on Karen Beecher and Kara Kent, Takeoffs & Landings, followed. At least two more stories (probably more) are planned.

Brown Eyes: Karen is probably the most grounded, down-to-earth, and logical of the mains.
The Cavalry: The police in Barbara's first battle, an unseen brick-thrower in another, and Superman followed by Wonder Woman, Hal Jordon, and John Stewart in Karen's first "tussle."

The Man Behind the Man: In the first story, Barbara starts out chasing Arthur Brown. She quickly identifies him as an underling of Floyd Lawton, who is in turn nothing more than a chess piece of Harley Quinn's.

Parental Neglect: Bette's parents aren't even there to celebrate Christmas with her.
Pop Cultured Badass: Bette and Karen are both tuned-in when it comes to this sort of thing. Bette frequently makes various references and doesn't care if there's anyone around to get them.
The Power of Friendship: Though she is loathe to admit it, Barbara does a lot better once she teams up with Bette.
