Girls' Night Out is an ongoing Fanfic series by Chellerrific based in the universe of Greg Weisman's and Brandon Vietti's Young Justice cartoon. The first story in the series, Hunter & Hunted, focuses on Barbara Gordon and Bette Kane when they, for their own individual reasons, decide to become superheroes (as you do). An Interquel focusing on Karen Beecher and Kara Kent, Takeoffs & Landings, followed. At least two more stories (probably more) are planned.
Tropes used in Girls' Night Out include:
- Action Fashionista: Bette puts a lot of effort into getting her costume just right.
- Action Girl: All the major characters to some degree. Barbara studies judo; Bette is skilled in both gymnastics and aikido and decides to take up kickboxing; Karen doesn't know any specific martial arts, but her suit allows her to engage in direct combat with stronger foes; and Kara, naturally, knows Klurkor.
- Alliteration: Cousins Conner and Kara Kent and their comrade Karen.
- Alien Among Us: Kara.
- Alliterative Name: Kara Kent.
- Amazonian Beauty: Knockout.
- Annoying Younger Sibling: Vic to Karen at times.
- Artistic License Physics: It's superheroes; what do you want.
- Badass Bookworm: Barbara. When in doubt, go to the library.
- Badass Bystander: Karen on her first "outing," to a degree.
- Badass Cape: Barbara, Bette, and Kara.
- Badass Normal: Barbara and Bette have no superpowers whatsoever. Karen is a normal human who only has enhancements via her super suit.
- Badass Unintentional: Sure Karen built the suit, but For Science!, not ass-kicking.
- Bare-Fisted Monk: Most of the characters prefer to go bare knuckles, at least to start out with; the exceptions are Karen, Lawton, Harley Quinn, and Scandal Savage.

- Blue Eyes: Barbara, Bette, and Kara. Personality-wise, Bette and Kara are type 1s; Barbara is more a type 2.
- Brainy Brunette: Karen is less of The Smart Guy than is typical, but she is a science genius who invented, designed, and built a flying super suit for herself by age 15.
- Brown Eyes: Karen is probably the most grounded, down-to-earth, and logical of the mains.
- The Cavalry: The police in Barbara's first battle, an unseen brick-thrower in another, and Superman followed by Wonder Woman, Hal Jordon, and John Stewart in Karen's first "tussle."
- Character Focus: Barbara and Bette in the first one, Karen and Kara in the second, and more to come later.
- Clothes Make the Superman: Karen's suit.
- Continuity Cameo: Every character named so far exists in or is based on someone from the DCU. Even Stacy the secretary.
- Costumed Nonsuper Hero: Barbara and Bette.
- Daddy's Girl: Barbara decides to take up the mantle of Batgirl expressly for the purpose of helping out her father, Police Commissioner Jim Gordon.
- Deadpan Snarker: Barbara.
- Desperately Looking for a Purpose In Life: Bette, who seems to cut out mundane things like sleeping, eating, and breathing in order to fit in all her numerous hobbies.
- Does Not Understand Sarcasm: A lot of Barbara's snark flies right over Bette's head.

- Forgets to Eat: Karen's family is so used to her doing this they have steps in place to stop it.

- Genki Girl: Bette. Kara to a lesser extent.
- Genre Savvy: Barbara in particular.
- Girls' Night Out Episode: Their nights out tend to involve kicking ass and taking names. And sometimes also makeovers.
- The Gunslinger: Floyd Lawton.
- Hair of Gold: Bette and Kara. DC loves them some blonds.
- Healing Factor: Scandal Savage and, to a lesser extent, Knockout.
- In the Name of the Moon: Bette tries, but gets a little tongue-tied.
- Intoxication Ensues: A side effect of Harley Quinn's smoke bombs.
- Kid Hero: Barbara is 13, Bette and Karen are 15, and Kara is (physiologically) 16.
- Kid Sidekick: Bette and Kara act like this to the more mature and focused Barbara and Karen despite the fact that they're both the older of their respective pairs.
- Leeroy Jenkins: Bette in her first villain confrontation.
- Lonely Rich Kid: Bette, all though few people realize just how lonely.
- Lovely Angels: Barbara and Bette, Karen and Kara.
- The Man Behind the Man: In the first story, Barbara starts out chasing Arthur Brown. She quickly identifies him as an underling of Floyd Lawton, who is in turn nothing more than a chess piece of Harley Quinn's.
- In the second, Karen and Kara are given an ultimatum by Neal Emerson. Upon confronting him, they find themselves in a showdown with Knockout and Scandal Savage.
- Missing Mom: Barbara's.
- Motor Mouth: Bette.
- Odango Hair: Karen's trademark hairstyle.
- Odd Friendship: Barbara and Bette.
- Official Couple: As per the show, Karen/Mal and Megan/Conner.
- Older Than They Look: Kara looks 16, but she's actually older than Superman.
- Outlaw Couple: Knockout and Scandal Savage.
- Parental Abandonment: By dint of her tragic Backstory, Kara is seriously lacking in the parental department.
- Parental Neglect: Bette's parents aren't even there to celebrate Christmas with her.
- Pop-Cultured Badass: Bette and Karen are both tuned-in when it comes to this sort of thing. Bette frequently makes various references and doesn't care if there's anyone around to get them.
- The Power of Friendship: Though she is loathe to admit it, Barbara does a lot better once she teams up with Bette.
- Psychopathic Womanchild: Harley Quinn.
- Redheaded Hero: Barbara.
- Red Oni, Blue Oni: Bette and Barbara respectively. Bette even lampshades this when she suggests making Barbara's costume blue.

- Techno Wizard: Dick, of course, and Barbara takes full advantage of that, though she's starting to pick up on a few things herself.
- Teen Genius: While other characters are debatable, Barbara and Karen both are without question.
