In works in which main characters are hopelessly more developed, durable, and effective than minor characters, the main characters are actually composite characters with Character Development, longevity, luck, might, and skill grafted onto them from allied minor characters, which if noticeable to the audience, are therefore deprived of these qualities and are thus incompetent redshirts.
