Selena Marie Gomez (born July 22, 1992) is a Teen Idol best known for playing Alex Russo on the Disney Channel Kid Com Wizards of Waverly Place. She has also starred in Another Cinderella Story, Princess Protection Program, Ramona and Beezus, and Monte Carlo. As of 2012, she's set to star in a teen comedy Spring Breakers, along with Vanessa Hudgens, Heather Morris, Ashley Benson, and James Franco. She's also starring in an animated film called Hotel Transylvania, an earthquake thriller called Aftershock, an action-thriller called The Getaway with Ethan Hawke, and a film adaptation of the young-adult novel Thirteen Reasons Why.

She's a singer (2009-present), actor (2002-present) and businesswoman (2008-present).

Like Miley Cyrus, Disney has built an entire franchise around Selena. She has even branched out into music by starting her own band, Selena Gomez & The Scene. Their first album, Kiss & Tell, has been certified gold. The follow-up album, A Year Without Rain was released on September 21, 2010. When The Sun Goes Down was released on June 28, 2011.
