Rebuilding the World/Characters
Gryffindor House
Phillip "Phil" Baron
Phillip Baron is a fourth year student in Gryffindor house. He has an aptitude for Defense Against the Dark Arts and aspires to play Seeker on the house Quidditch team. He is a fan of Harry Potter; however, he is often told that he resembles The Boy Who Lived, and that bothers him.
- Ascended Fanboy: For Harry Potter.
- Book Dumb: He's a competent duelist, he just doesn't pay much attention in class.
- Celebrity Resemblance
- Deadpan Snarker
- Heroes Want Redheads: Exemplified by his crush on Jaina Raleigh.
- Jerk With a Heart of Gold
- The Prankster
Rafos Scriven
Rafos Scriven is a fourth year student... as well as a 150-year-old vampire. Like Phillip, he is also inclined to Defense Against the Dark Arts.
- Character Development: Has gone from a quiet noble vampire who doesn't like confrontation, to an outspoken character.
- Friendly Neighborhood Vampire
- Really 700 Years Old: Is a hundred and fifty. Looks fourteen.
- Only Sane Man: Shares this role with Ephraim within Phil's group.
- Super-Powered Evil Side
- Vegetarian Vampire: Handles the cravings quite well.
Edwin "Ed" Growley
A fourth-year Gryffindor werewolf. He is a Remus Lupin fanboy with a preference for Transfiguration.
- Ascended Fanboy: For Remus Lupin. And the Flanagans
- Big Eater
- Deadpan Snarker
- Jerk With a Heart of Gold
- Meaningful Name: His last name is "Growley". He's a werewolf. 'Nuff said.
- Plucky Comic Relief
- The Prankster
Amaris Minigan
Another Gryffindor fourth-year student. Like Edwin, she is a werewolf; her father is the alpha of a pack (though he tried to spare her his fate). She has a natural ability for Care of Magical Creatures.
- Berserk Button: Flanagans.
- Only Sane Man: At this point, along with Adam.
Gabriel Laurier
Hogwarts Head Boy, a seventh-year vampire from Gryffindor house. He is a friend and mentor of Rafos and shares his aptitude for Transfiguration.
- Friendly Neighborhood Vampire
- Nice Guy
- Really 700 Years Old
- Straight Gay: His profile implies that he once had a relationship with a younger Albus Dumbledore.
- Twofer Token Minority: He's a gay black vampire.
Krista Guidry
A fourth year Gryffindor vampire. She is a relatively new vampire and was turned by Rafos, with whom she is implied to have once been involved. She is apt at Charms.
Livilla "Livie" Flanagan
A first year Gryffindor werewolf "Runt", the youngest of the Flanagan siblings and the only one not in Slytherin. She is implied to be the pet of her family.
- Morality Pet: To her siblings, Cal and Rippa in particular.
Emilie Scriven
Rafos's younger sister, a third year Gryffindor. Like her brother, she is a vampire--though she lacks his self-control in regards to the accompanying appetite. She has an aptitude for Potions.
- Brutal Honesty: She tends to speak her mind about humans a lot.
- Cloudcuckoolander
- Morality Pet: For Rafos.
- Really 700 Years Old
- Warm Bloodbags Are Everywhere.
Cadwyn Shaw
Rafos's ex-girlfriend, a sixth year (despite being technically younger than Rafos). Another vampire, she has little taste for humans other than in the literal sense. She has a talent for Divination.
Jaina Raleigh
Another Gryffindor fourth year, a Muggle-born student from Ireland. Phil has a crush on her. Prefers Transfiguration.
- Action Girl: Sometimes dangerously so.
"Where's your sense of adventure?" |
- Deadpan Snarker
- Fiery Redhead
- Heroes Want Redheads: Phil does, anyway.
- Middle Child Syndrome
- Tsundere: Type A
Laura Landers
A fourth year Muggle-born Gryffindor raised in a religious household and therefore highly averse to magic in general.
- Butt Monkey
- Demoted to Extra: Played a much larger role in the original incarnation of the forum.
- I Have No Son: Her parents disown her when her Hogwarts letter arrives.
Declan Foster
A seventh-year Gryffindor. He doesn't really socialize much with his housemates and tends to keep to himself. Favours Astronomy.
Hufflepuff House
Ian Stavos
A fifth-year vegetarian werewolf. His favorite subject is Charms... but if anyone asks, it's Defense Against the Dark Arts.
Clifford Wilcox St. Grottomire The Third
A wealthy Hufflepuff sixth-year with a persistent crush on former one-timer Evadne, despite her obvious disinterest in anything more than sex. Oddly enough, enjoys History of Magic.
- Love At First Sight: For Evadne.
- Prince Charming Wannabe
Jack Hollows
A sixth-year Hufflepuff of indiscriminate taste. Is... err, friendly with everyone and has a talent for Transfiguration.
Gideon Fairchild
A Hufflepuff student in his fourth year, he was once best friends with Phil but they have since had a falling out. Excels in Defense Against the Dark Arts.
- The Ace
- Nice Guy
- Official Couple: With Starla.
- The Rival: To Phil.
- Not anymore.
Starla Saffron
A first-year Hufflepuff at the age of sixteen and not what someone would describe as the brightest crayon in the box. Despite the fact that her head's a bit off, her heart's in the right place.
- Cloudcuckoolander
- The Ditz
- Official Couple: With Gideon.
Ravenclaw House
Ephraim Reeves
A fourth-year Ravenclaw who is friends with Phil, Rafos, and Ed. He is an intellectual who enjoys Potions.
- Black Sheep
- Character Development: In the same vein as Rafos, Eph has become much less timid and more confident as the story continues.
- Love At First Sight: Possibly for Alicia Moondust.
- Only Sane Man: In Phil's group, shared with Rafos.
- When You Coming Home, Mom?
Evadne Aquarius
A sixth-year Ravenclaw. The daughter of a rogue Death Eater, she's a tough loner with a bit of a mean streak, but her heart is in the right place. She's a bit of a brainiac, particularly when it comes to Potions.
- Accidental Athlete
- Brutal Honesty: As Monty Baron finds out.
- Deadpan Snarker
- Kuudere
- Nerds Are Sexy
- Really Gets Around
Adam Rinaldi
A Ravenclaw seventh-year and prefect. So far one of the work's more "normal" characters. He's great at Transfiguration (and Quidditch).
- The Ace
- The Casanova
- Only Sane Man: Quite possibly, along with Amaris.
Colin Moon
A fourth-year Ravenclaw with a crush on Isabella Spindel. An insatiable student, particularly in Charms.
- Bookworm: Up to Eleven. Reads books in bed, read books while eating breakfast and even reads while talking to people.
- Insufferable Genius
- Motor Mouth: Surprisingly, is quite talkative when asked about schooling.
- No Social Skills: Colin doesn't really know how to socialize with non-Ravenclaws.
- Saw Star Wars 27 Times: Well... read Hogwarts: A History fifty times.
Alicia Moondust
A rather odd fourth year Ravenclaw. She has a crush on Ephraim. She's good friends with Emilie Scriven and likes Charms.
- Agent Mulder
- Brutal Honesty: It came back to bite her in "The Dance Floor".
- Cloudcuckoolander
- Stepford Smiler: Her mother was killed by Death Eaters. She tries to put on a brave face, but is still suffering.
Slytherin House
Caligula "Cal" Flanagan
A sixth-year Slytherin werewolf, a son of the ruling family of one of Britain's most notorious packs. Like his younger sister Livie, he is a "Runt" as a result of a genetic abnormality and suffers a lack of self-esteem because of it. However, he is clever enough (albeit quite ditzy), and is a hit with the ladies. Excels in Charms.
- Chivalrous Pervert
- Embarrassing First Name: His full first name is Caligula.
- As if that wasn't enough, his mom calls him Cali.
- Our Werewolves Are Different
- Really Gets Around
- Shipper On Deck: For Glenn and Isabella.
- Stepford Smiler
- The Casanova
Isabella Spindel
A sixth-year Slytherin, the school's resident Alpha Bitch. Like Evadne, she is the daughter of leftover Death Eaters (who are indeed implied to be flunkies to Evadne's mother). Likely as a result of this, she is proficient in Defence Against the Dark Arts.
- Abusive Parents: Her mother and father are both Death Eaters.
- Alpha Bitch
- Dumb Blonde
- You Need to Get Laid: According to Gabriel, anyway.
Odessa Vanloan
A fifth year Slytherin who is a member of Isabella's Girl Posse. Very quiet, she sticks to her own agenda mostly. Likes Defence Against the Dark Arts.
- The Quiet One
- Surrounded By Idiots: What she believes.
Agrippina "Rippa" Flanagan
One of Cal's younger sisters, a fourth-year werewolf. Can be cruel in an icy sort of way, but that's not to say she lacks her hidden depths and maybe even a few dark secrets. Has a knack for Ancient Runes.
- Morality Pet: Edwin's certainly mellowed her out...
- Promoted to Love Interest: Played a relatively minor role in the forum's original incarnation, but is getting much more airtime as a result of her relationship with Edwin Growley.
- Surrounded By Idiots: Or so she would say.
- The Snark Knight
Drusilla "Silla" Flanagan
The middle Flanagan sister, a third-year. Like the rest of her family, she's a werewolf... and a loose cannon. Her abilities lie in Defence Against the Dark Arts.
Glenn Blakeny
Sixth year and Isabella's best friend. Like Isabella, his Dad is a rogue Death Eater. He has admitted to having a crush on her. Tries to be a tough guy, but is a softie. Likes Herbology.
- Big Brother Instinct
- I Am Not My Father
- Odd Name Out: His siblings are all named for Greek Gods and Goddesses. He, quite clearly, is not.
- Only Sane Man: Of Slytherin house.
- Promotion to Parent: Of his own volition.
- Unlucky Childhood Friend: With Isabella. Though he admits that he likes her, he has no intention to act on the feeling.
Abel Cross
Seventh year with a grudge against vampires and werewolves. Tries to act nice, but is really conniving and power hungry. Is proficient in Charms.
- Affably Evil
- A considerable YMMV. Most of the characters can't stand the guy, and not without solid reason. Even fellow Slytherins Glenn, Cal, and Rippa are among his fervent haters. The only major character who seems to like him is Isabella Spindel, who herself is the resident Alpha Bitch.
- The Casanova
- Foe Yay: With Cadwyn.
- Manipulative Bastard
- Not So Different: Is very much like Tom Riddle.
- Smug Snake
Charlie and Henry Woodward
Rafos and Emilie's cousins in third year. Though they are Rafos' relatives, they hate him with a passion, and would want to do anything to make him a bloodthirsty vampire like his sister. Both are on the Slytherin Quidditch team, and both have big crushes on Silla Flanagan.
Hogwarts Staff
Minerva McGonagall
The new headmistress of Hogwarts.
Monty Baron
Ex-Auror and Defence Against the Dark Arts Teacher. Is Phil's father.
- Badass Teacher: Before he was a teacher, he was an Auror that put four Death Eaters in Azkaban.
- Papa Wolf: Towards Phil.
Lucia Card
The new Transfiguration teacher. Tries to be a Stern Teacher, but is very clumsy. She is McGonagall's great neice. Head of Gryffindor house.
- Ms. Fanservice: In Cal's opinion.
- Stern Teacher: But more of a Bait and Switch Tyrant once you get to know her out of class.
- Suspiciously Similar Substitute: Lucia Card compared to Minerva McGonagall.
- Somewhat justified as she is McGonagall's great-niece though.
Rubeus Hagrid
Hagrid still works as the Hogwarts gamekeeper and Care of Magical Creatures teacher. He has more creatures that live on the grounds now and is good friends with Monty.
- Gentle Giant
- Papa Wolf: To all Hogwarts students.
Filius Flitwick
Professor Flitwick is still the Hogwarts Charms teacher.
Pomona Sprout
Professor Sprout is still the Herbology teacher at Hogwarts.
Horace Slughorn
Professor Slughorn is still the Potions teacher at Hogwarts. He is still obsessed with his favourites, so much so that the students find his lessons very boring.
Sybil Trelawny
Still the acting Divination teacher, Professor Trelawny is now a recovering alcoholic, but her strange predictions have been more pronounced of late.
Argus Filch
Caretaker of Hogwarts, and Squib. He still looks to punish students in any way, but is a little more overzealous than he used to be.

Lachesis Aquarius
One of the death eaters who escaped in the small scale break out, she looks out only for herself. She knows what she wants and makes sure that she gets it.

Death eater who has been on the run since the fall of Voldemort. He is particularly cunning and ruthless with a take-no-prisoners attitude.
Septimus Spindel
Isabella Spindel's father, he escaped Azkaban in the small scale break-out. He's more of a doer than a thinker and will be the one more likely to execute plans.
- The Brawn: Between him and his wife.
- Dumb Muscle
Arcon Bradbury
The last Death Eater to escape in the break out, Arcon is sadistic and insane. He delights in destruction and chaos, and is easily the most dangerous in the group of rogues.

- Cloudcuckoolander: A much darker version.
- Loves the Sound of Screaming
- Psychopathic Manchild
