StoneToss: A Political Cartoon (informally known as just StoneToss) is a webcomic put out by its titular author, on a bi-weekly basis. Its humor is generally oriented around American Politics, social critique, and being offensive in the name of humor.

It's typically drawn using a 4-panel comic format, using a simplistic art style composed of black and white characters with colored background set-pieces. Each comic is very short and typically meant to be a quick read, generally making a simple if offensive point about something and letting the art ask the question "Why so offended?" to the reader.

StoneToss has often been accused of extreme political bias, particularly being Nazi or extreme right in tone, and though the author has consistently denied this and maintained that it's offensive in the name of being funny and nothing more, his public views (courtesy of his social media) are verifiably inline with many views considered alt-right and/or Nazi in either tone or outright stated.

Tropes used in StoneToss include:

• Acceptable Targets: A short list of those who qualify according to Stonetoss includes, but is not limited to.
  • Leftists (of the US variety).
  • Atheists
  • The LGBT in general, with particular emphasis on the last letter.
  • Political Correctness
• All Gays Are Pedophiles: A canard Stonetoss is very fond of.
• All Gays Are Promiscuous; A common trope used in many strips. Gays are portrayed as being utterly incapable of monogamy and deviant enough, as one strip shows, to use diarrhea as anal lubrication.
• And That's Terrible: As shown here.
• Banned On TV Tropes: Despite the author's own claim they'd make a terrible Nazi and many strips where they are willing to mock both sides of the argument, TV Tropes has banned their page on this web-comic due to its alt-right leaning views.
  • As for whether the author is a closet Nazi, while they have outright denied this, it is worth noting they have multiple comics showing contempt for Israel (both Jews as a people and the nation-state), have shown some sympathy for Holocaust denial, or at least minimalism, and have a pronounced negative opinion of LGBT issues. How much is completely sincere and how much is just to troll remains an open question. However, the evidence certainly does lean towards a considerable majority of it being genuine, courtesy of both the comic itself and the author's own social media posts that accompany it.
• Beat: Commonly done in a comic panel format to establish the punchline, with one panel serving as a dramatic pause before the punchline drops in the next panel.
• Bait and Switch: As shown with this strip showing therapy has multiple meanings.
• Boomerang Bigot: In which self-hatred is taken to its logical conclusion.
• But You Screw One Goat!: According to Stonetoss, this is inevitable for anyone who abandons religion or any other form of non-secular morality.
• Captain Obvious: Well, duh, racism is bad.
• Category Traitor: A common trope Stonetoss reaches for as the basis of many comics. Essentially one person in the comic (generally regarded as the Only Sane Man by the author, is thus at the receiving end of an attack by the party and is deemed to be the target of the comic for the reasons of this trope. While some cases are to point out legitimate criticism (best seen whenever Stonetoss critiques those who stand up for workers versus those who actually do work), it often tends to devolve into little more than "No U" level comebacks at who Stonetoss considers Acceptable Targets.
• Devil In Plain Sight: Mocked in this strip about brightly colored predators.
• Dirty Cop: Stonetoss likes to use this trope to show what he deems actual criminals being shielded by these.
  • Parodied here in a strip where Stonetoss points out the logical end result of abolishing police means the guilty would be set free, even those that the police abolishers want to be imprisoned.
  • And rather bluntly subverted in these strips, with the broad implication certain people believed to be victims of actual Police Brutality were making it up.
• Double Standard: As shown here.
• Donald Trump: Mocked.
• Driven to Suicide: And all to make a very ironic point.
• Dystopia: It's closer than many think.
• Even the Guys Want Him: To this guy's chagrin.
• Fantastic Racism: Parodied in this comic about "illegal aliens".
• Furry Fandom: Mocked in this comic, where The Joker makes a very good point on the subject to Batman.
• Free-Love Future: A trope Stonetoss is very fond of mocking, usually conflating it with (a decadent view of) western liberalism.
• Gay Panic: Critiqued along with Think of the Children logic.
  • Ironically enough, the above comic both lampoons the trope while feeding into the All Gays Are Pedophiles trope, so the humor is rather hypocritical.
• Greedy Jew: While Stonetoss has denied being a Nazi, he does have a noticeable contempt of supposed wealthy jews and has a marked degree of disdain for any aid to Israel.
• Heteronormative Crusader: Gay and transgender people are portrayed in a rather unflattering light most of the time, and the author suggests quite often that spiting this trope is seen as normal by those the author deems wrong.
• Hypocrite:
  • Not all people who champion the working class really care about actual workers.
  • In this commentary on masks it's pointed out that the people who hate masks may be doing so more out of spite than principle.
  • The comic Calling the Kettleback compares Blackface to Transsexualism, invoking this trope, by claiming both are gross mockery of a physical aspect of humans beings that they can't change, being black and being a woman, and transsexuals therefore are hypocrites for attacking blackface.
• Irony: If race is a social construct is there any point to making it more diverse?
• Jumping Off the Slippery Slope: As shown here.
• Kill It with Fire: Didn't just happen during the Holocaust.
• Murder Simulators: The panic over these is referenced here.
• Not So Different: The communists have more in touch with capitalists than anyone thought.
• The Oldest Profession: Given a crossover with Reality Ensues, courtesy of the IRS.
• Political Correctness Gone Mad: Oft mocked and commented on in many strips.
  • Worth noting this is generally mocked from the political left most of the time, which the author primarily tends to associate this trope with in nigh any negative sense.
• Pyrrhic Victory: As illustrated in this comic lampooning Gamergate.
• Sacred Cow: This comic shows how none are above the mockery of someone else.
  • This strip is a variation of mocking the idea. A presumed atheist is trying to offend by showing off a Christian cross dunked in urine. The other guy manages to offend the atheist by tossing in a menorah into the urine as well.
• Science Marches On: Mocked without pity.
• Take That, Critics!: StoneToss is well aware of some of the people who think he is an actual bigot.
• Tempting Fate: Why illegal border crossing actually is a serious risk.
• Thoughtcrime: Based on actual laws in New York City.
• Those Wacky Nazis: While the Nazis are often parodied and mocked, with Stonetoss pointing out they were filled with gays and other "deviants" that they claimed to oppose, many of his strips are more ambiguous, with some claiming "free speech" is a Nazi creed cornerstone. On the other hand, the mockery seems less sincere and even nonexistent, with some strips even endorsing, if not outright Holocaust denial, then at least minimalism and skepticism, even of things generally agreed to have been things the Nazis were guilty of to some verifiable degree.
  • And sometimes, in a politically slanted Hitler Ate Sugar parody fashion, he uses Nazi as a shorthand for anyone that has what the author deems sane opinions hated by others.
• Troll: The author admits the intention of their comic is to do this because the whole point is to tear down everything in the name of making a joke out of it.
• True Art Is Offensive: Their raison d'etre. If you legitimately find it funny or are genuinely offended, they feel they have achieved what they sought to do either way.
• Unperson: Even Abe Lincoln isn't safe from this.
• What Were They Selling Again?: Mocked in the infamous "Burger Kang?" comic, who mocks a trend started on the 2010s of ads promoting leftist views on sexuality without ever talking about the actual product that they were supposed to be about.
• Your Terrorists Are Our Freedom Fighters: A common refrain of his comics mocking leftist oriented movements associated with violence is to basically say this trope is hypocritically applied against the right with them always framed as the former.
  • Given a religious twist in this strip to show what the author deems a backward reaction to Christians versus Satan worshipers.
• Wholesome Crossdresser: Subverted. Everyone who crossdresses (for any reason) is shown as degenerate. As the page image shows, anyone who is portrayed as transgender is always portrayed in a very unflattering light and drawn to make them look particularly ugly.
