Maho Hiyajo

Now you're just being insulting!! There is no university that lets in people THAT young!
...in other words, I'm a FULL GROWN WOMAN!!! Not in middle school, elementary school, OR PRE-SCHOOL!!!!

A student from Viktor Condria University in the United States. and a close colleague and friend of the late Kurisu Makise. She is one among those involved in the development of "Project Amadeus", an AI program constructed using a person's memories and converting it to electronic data. She forms a budding friendship with Okabe after the latter speaks out in her defence when the initial presentation plays up. The two also bond over their mutual friendship with Kurisu.

Though she is 21 years old, her tiny stature makes her very easy to mistake for an elementary school student.

Tropes exhibited by this character include:

A-Cup Angst: Has flashes of this from time to time, even more so when the more well-endowed Moeka is around.
Always Someone Better: She feels this way towards Kurisu, feeling that she can never live up to the latter's standards, describing herself as "Salieri" to Kurisu's "Mozart".
Berserk Button: If there is one thing Maho truly despises, it is being mistaken for a child, and it never ceases to piss her off every time it happens.
- The only exception is Nae, whom Maho realises is a child who probably doesn't understand stuff like this.
Colour Motif: Green seems to be a recurring element of her appearance; green eyes, hair with a slight green tinge, and her outfits prominently feature the colour green as well, symbolising her being envious towards Kurisu's accomplishment.
Gamer Chick: Enjoys racing games so much that she got the high score on every game she played at the arcade in Episode 9.
He's Not My Boyfriend: Says this word for word on several occasions each time Alexis Leskinen, Judy Reyes, or Amadeus tease her about it.
Hypocrite: She tries to tell Moeka that she cannot spend her entire life comparing herself to others or else she'd feel inferior, but she quickly develops some self-awareness and realises she does the same thing herself.
Modesty Towel: There are a couple of scenes where this is all she has on. Unfortunately for her, it slips off each time; or comes close to slipping off at least.
The Napoleon: Short and, on a bad day, can be rather foul tempered, especially when her aforementioned Berserk Button is pressed.
Older Than They Look: As mentioned in her description, she's 21 despite looking like a 12-year-old. Though alive in 2036, she has the misfortune of still looking like a kid even at the age of 46!
Rapunzel Hair: Her hair goes right past her hips.
Running Gag: Her lack of height is joked about quite frequently, with Daru even calling her "Mini-Maho" because he finds her adorable.

Suzuha Amane (beta)

Well, get used to it, because the fact that I'm still here shows that the future hasn't changed at all.

This version of Suzuha is from the beta world line and returned to 2010 to seek Okabe's help to save Kurisu Makise's life and prevent a catastrophic Third World War. Unlike Alpha Suzuha, she has full knowledge of who her father is (Daru), knows the other Lab Mems right off the bat, and has an easier time adapting to this time period. After her mission ends in failure due to Okabe suffering from a Heroic BSOD having accidently killed Kurisu himself, she decides to stick around; she gradually gets frustrated with Okabe's lack of cooperation and starts seeking alternative means of completing her mission.

During her stay in 2010, she lives with Daru, and has a couple of run-ins with her future mother, Yuki.

Tropes exhibited by this character include:

Action Girl: Given the era she came from; this is no surprise.
Action Initiative: Since Okabe won't budge on time travel, Suzuha eventually decides to take matters into her hands and go back to 2010 herself.
Adaptational Modesty: She is completely nude when she fights Kagari, but in the anime, she leaves a decoy in the shower room and faces her with some clothing on at least.
Ascended Extra: In the original Steins;Gate, Suzuha played a very important role in the story even as a side character. Here though, she is part of the main cast and a key player in the story.
Beauty Is Never Tarnished: She alludes to wearing multiple layers of clothing even in the summer to cover up some of her battle scars, but when we do see her in minimal clothing (cropped undershirt and tight fitting lycras), she doesn't have that many scars, if she even has any at all.
Big Eater: Has demonstrated that she has quite an appetite, handily winning an eating contest without breaking a sweat. She claims her appetite stems from habits she learned in the future where rations are not as plentiful.
Fanservice: She is fully naked when Kagari shows up at the lab, as shown by the accompanying CG.
Foil: To her Alpha self; beta Suzuha is more focused, battle-hardened, and serious compared to her more curious, bubbly, energetic, and cheerful Alpha self, which Okabe himself lampshades.
- She is also this to her Omega self, who is more carefree, dim-witted, and kind of bratty.
Full Frontal Assault
Full-Name Basis: She still addresses people on a full name basis, though she doesn't do so as frequently as her Alpha self, nor does she do it as much in English. She is the only person who addresses Faris by her real name, Rumiho (or Rumi for short), much to the latter's surprise.
Get a Hold of Yourself, Man!: In the VN, it is Suzuha who gives Okabe the clobbering he deserves instead of Daru in the anime.
Hypocrite: When Okabe awakens from a coma in 2036, she gets upset that her dad had lied to her and kept the extent of his condition from her for 11 years. Small details aside, let's not forget that she has also lied to her dad about Yuki seeing another man just to get the two together.
I Lied: To elaborate the above entry, she fabricated a story about Yuki flirting with some other guy in order to get Daru to start taking his relationship with her seriously. She even has Faris doctor a photo she carries around with her to appear as though she is fading away. But it isn't until after Daru's date with Yuki ends in embarrassment for him that she comes clean and admits to manufacturing the whole thing. Despite this though, she was sincere enough that it gave Daru the kick up the ass he needed to try again. His second date with Yuki goes much better as a result.
Imagine Spot: Upon learning that Kagari might have a romantic interest in someone in the OVA, Suzuha has a couple of these.
Jerkass to One: Like her Alpha self, she is generally friendly to everyone around her, but the big difference though is that she is much more antagonistic towards Okabe. Her relationship with him gets confrontational at best, and outright hostile at worst. She never considers how Okabe feels about time travel, nor understands why he is so hesitant to give it another round. She is aware that Okabe's inactions will cause WWIII to break out, during which Yuki will die at some point, so she low-key blames him for her mother's eventual death.
Male Gaze: Just like Alpha Suzuha, we get some well-placed shots of her rear end.
No Sympathy: Despite the sheer hell that Okabe had gone through thanks to time travel, Suzuha shows no consideration for how he feels, and seems to think he's holding out on her on purpose out of malice.
Properly Paranoid: One thing she has a common with her Alpha self is her fear of aircraft; the mere sight of a passenger jet is enough to cause Suzuha to freeze in fear.
Relatively Flimsy Excuse: She pretends to be Daru's younger sister any time Yuki shows up just to keep the latter from finding out she is her Kid from the Future.
Shameless Fanservice Girl: She doesn't think to cover herself up when she gets out of shower to confront the intruder in the lab, fighting said intruder while completely exposed.
Wacky Parent, Serious Child: She is the serious child to Daru being the Wacky Parent.

Yuki Amane

Personally, I like you a lot more when you're being yourself. You're more fun this way!

Yuki is a cosplayer, and is not only Daru's girlfriend and future wife, but also Suzuha's future mother. Having made a brief appearance in the OVA episode of the original Steins;Gate series as a young woman whom Okabe mistakes for Suzuha, she was properly integrated into the narrative in 0.

She also made a cameo appearance via a photo in the Steins;Gate movie, though Kurisu doesn't buy it at all given the major contrast in appearances.

Ascended Extra: She went from making brief cameo appearances in the original adaptation, movie, and spin-off games, to being more directly involved with the main cast in Steins;Gate 0.
Cute Clumsy Girl: She has an unfortunate habit of injuring herself, the only instance we see of this is when she walks into a door. To be fair, it was glass, so...
Early Installment Character-Design Difference: When the OVA episode was in production, her design was not set in stone yet, so the artists simply made her look almost identical to Suzuha with a different hairstyle and colour. Her cameo in the movie is closer to how she looks in 0, until we got what we have now. It is highly likely (but not definite) that the redesign was made so the resemblance to Suzuha less obvious to the other characters.
Give Geeks a Chance: She actually prefers Daru being his usual goofy self, believing him to be more fun to be with. She was visibly put off by Daru when he tried to act like a confident ladies' man, no thanks to the other girls.
In-Series Nickname: Subverted; in the game, she has a cosplay name: Ama-Yuki (a portmanteau of her full name, Amane Yuki). However, this nickname is very rarely used.
Mistaken Identity: When we first meet her, Okabe mistakes her for Suzuha due to looking almost identical. Given that Suzuha was a time traveller, it was an easy mistake to make.
Ms. Fanservice: Wears a rather revealing outfit during Episode 3's Christmas party. She is often seen throughout the series in some kind of cosplay getup.
Nice Girl: Seems to have the same cheerful personality as Alpha Suzuha, and loves Daru for the otaku that he is.
Older Than They Look: She may not look it, but Yuki is actually the oldest person in Okabe's circle of friends. She's 22 years old, making her older than Maho. She's almost 3 years older than Daru.
Otaku: Given that she is a cosplayer and first met Daru at ComiMa, she is implied to be one.
Reasonable Authority Figure: She is the only person that Suzuha will not talk back to, even without knowing her true identity. Not even Mayuri is that effective.
Red Herring: In the VN, a brainwashed Kagari received cosmetic surgery to make her look like a spitting image of Yuki that not even Suzuha could tell the difference. This plot point is omitted in the anime.
Significant Double Casting: Both Yuki and Suzuha are voiced by Yukari Tamura (JP) and Cherami Leigh (EN). Leigh speaks in a higher pitch when voicing Yuki's dialogue, just to distinguish between to the two characters for when they eventually share screen time.
Strong Family Resemblance: Side by side, you can definitely tell that Suzuha takes after her, even having the same smiles in a photo they take together at the end of Episode 15.
Taking the Bullet: Tragically how she died in the future to protect Suzuha from an attack drone that opened fire on them.
Ugly Guy, Hot Wife: How the messy, unkempt, overweight Daru was able to hook up with a stunning young lady like Yuki is a complete mystery to everyone!

Amadeus Kurisu

**Voiced by:** Asami Imai (JP), Trina Nishimura (EN)

I know labs tend to be messy as a rule, but I was expecting less of a frat pad and more of an actual lab.

Named after composer Amadeus Mozart, Amadeus is the Artificial Intelligence constructed by Professor Alexis Leskinen at the Viktor Condria University in the United States. It is constructed using the memories and likeness of the late Kurisu Makise.

After discovering the extent of Okabe's relationship with Kurisu, Maho and Prof. Leskinen bring him on board as a tester for Amadeus. Though she is nothing more than a digital replica, she still retains all of her knowledge and personality from the real Kurisu when she was alive, and it doesn't take long for Okabe to get attached to her despite Maho's repeated warnings that she is just a programme.

Benevolent AI: She is just a programme after all, but she can assist you with anything you need.
The Caregiver: While Okabe was comatose for 11 years, Amadeus kept constant watch over his vitals to ensure he didn't die.
Closet Geek: Yes, she is still embarrassed that her real self was an avid @channel user!
Date Peeper: Became one by accident when Okabe forgot to close the Amadeus app while on a group date. He is mortified once he learns this!
Don't Call Me "Christina"!: The one and only time Okabe deliberately calls her Christina is met with a reaction of this nature.
Fiery Redhead: Even in digital form, she still a redhead, and still has quite the temper to go with it.
Half the Woman She Used To Be: Lampshaded by Amadeus herself, acknowledging she doesn't have legs. Still, we never see her from the waist down.
Heroic Sacrifice: Once she realises she can be used as a weapon in warfare, she allows Daru to send a D-mail (in this case, a D-Rine) into the past to prevent her creation in the first place.
Last Request: Right before the D-Rine is sent, she wishes for Maho to take care of [her] Hououin Kyouma in her stead.
Nice Girl: Compared to Alpha Kurisu, Amadeus Kurisu is far friendlier and more approachable towards Okabe, thanks in part to her first impression of the guy not being spoiled by the insane ramblings of Hououin Kyouma.
Oh Crap: In the English dub, this is her reaction when she realises she got Rick Roll'd.
Robot Buddy: Need something? She's one call away!
Shipper on Deck: Believes Okabe and Maho to be lovers and will continue to ship the two any chance she gets.
Tsundere: Unfortunately for her, the real Kurisu's tsundere tendencies remained intact when her memories when transplanted into an A.I programme. Okabe continuously pokes fun at her more embarrassing traits just to get a rise out of Amadeus, including her old @channel hobby, and trolling her with internet memes. He manages to make her blush at one point.
Unwitting Instigator of Doom: In certain routes in which Okabe does not turn his phone off, answering Amadeus' calls will lead to "Gehenna's Stigma", a.k.a, the Bad Ending. Thankfully, the player can just ignore these calls.

Katsumi Nakase/Fubuki

**Voiced by:** Mariko Honda (JP), Mikaela Krantz (EN)

Fubuki is one of Mayuri Shiina's cosplay friends, and a minor character in Steins;Gate 0. While she mostly appears as a background character, she finds herself suffering from a form of enhanced encephalitis, which Okabe discovers is simply a stronger form of Reading Steiner when she starts seeing visions of alternate worlds that she shares with other patients.

Tropes exhibited by this character include:

Ambiguously Gay: Fubuki falls under this trope because of her close friendship with Mayuri, even groping her at one point. She also isn't shown to have romantic interest in any of the guys.
Ascended Extra: She was mentioned a few times in previous games, but this is the first time we actually meet her in person.
Covert Pervert: In addition to shipping Okabe and Mayuri, she gets giddy over little Nae Tennoujii cuddling up with Maho during the Christmas party, not to mention the Imagine Spot she has (which she envisions Mayuri wrapped in nothing but in pink ribbon) in the Valentine's Day episode. She admits to being something of a pervert, just as long as she isn't on the receiving end of a Daru comparison.
Foil: In a way, she is the polar opposite of Ruka; Fubuki looks somewhat boyish for a girl, while Ruka is a feminine looking boy. They both prefer the fashion of the opposite sex to compensate for their insecurities. While Ruka refuses to cosplay because of his appearance, Fubuki is more than happy to do so in spite of it, choosing to cosplay male characters rather than female ones.
Genki Girl: A mild example, since she gets pretty excited by the idea of romance, particularly her tendency to ship her friends together. Even so, she is still very upbeat and energetic.
Only Known by Her Nickname: Within her circle of friends, she is always addressed by her cosplay name. She is only called by her real name by doctors and other non-affiliated persons.
Otaku: Loves cosplay, and frequently attends ComiMa.
Seen It All: She reveals to Kaede that she has had strange dreams in which she witnessed Mayuri dying over and over again, just as Okabe did in the original game, implying that she has some form of Reading Steiner, too.
Shipper on Deck: She is well aware of the type of relationship that Mayuri and Okabe have. That doesn't stop her from shipping the two together.
Tomboy and Girly Girl: She has a rather tomboyish appearance tomboy, while Kaede is the more feminine of the pair.
What Happened to the Mouse?: In the anime, she and Kaede all but leave the plot after Episode 13, and we don't see them again until the special episode.

Kaede Kurushima

Kaede is another one of Mayuri's cosplay friends, and a very minor character in Steins;Gate 0.

Tropes exhibited by this character include:

Ascended Extra: Like Fubuki, Kaede only received a few fleeting mentions in the original game and spin-off titles, but here is the first time we see her in person.
Cool Big Sis: She is like one to Katsumi, as she is the first person that the latter turns to for comfort.
Dull Surprise: While Faris is screaming in panic at the sight of a saucepan fire, Kaede doesn't even react to it, instead wondering what happened win the most casual tone imaginable.
Insane Troll Logic: Kaede believes that Okarin and Fubuki are spiritually connected to one another based on the fact that the two collapsed at the exact same moment in a fanfic she wrote. It makes sense to her, somehow.
Hidden Depths: Though only shown in one scene in the game, Kaede is quite adept at playing the piano, playing Mozart's "Rondo Alla Turca" (Turkish March).
Lethal Chef: While trying to make Valentine's Day chocolates, her saucepan catches fire when she tries to melt some chocolate over direct heat.
One of These Is Not Like the Others: Of everyone in Mayuri's cosplay circle, Kaede is the only one who lacks a nickname.
Otaku: A given, seeing as she is one of Mayuri's cosplay buddies after all.
Raven Hair, Ivory Skin
Sexy Santa Dress: She wears one of the more revealing outfits of this type at the Christmas party in Episode 3.
Ship Tease: The aforementioned fanfic she wrote shipping Okabe and Fubuki together.
Tomboy and Girly Girl: Kaede is rather feminine, while Fubuki is rather tomboyish.
What Happened to the Mouse?: Like Fubuki, she just disappears after Episode 13 with no explanation.
