In works in which main characters are hopelessly more developed, durable, and effective than minor characters, the main characters are actually composite characters with Character Development, longevity, luck, might, and skill grafted onto them from allied minor characters, which if noticeable to the audience, are therefore deprived of these qualities and are thus incompetent redshirts.

This explains Axis Powers Hetalia, and these tropes:

• Badass Abnormal, Badass Adorable, Badass Beard, Badass Biker, Badass Bookworm, Badass Cape, Badass Creed, Talking Is a Free Action, Badass Driver, Badass Grandpa, Badass Israeli, Badass Longcoat, Badass Long Robe, Badass Long Hair, Badass Mustache, Badass Normal, Badass Preacher, Badass Spaniard, Badass Teacher, Badbutt, Colonel Badass, Four-Star Badass, Authority Equals Asskicking, Cool Shades, Cultured Badass, Fingerless Gloves, Handicapped Badass, Heartbroken Badass, Hot Chick in a Badass Suit, Iron Woobie, Little Miss Badass, Pregnant Badass, Never Gets Drunk (Only some of the minor characters are abnormal, adorable, bearded, bikers, bookish, cape-wearing, talking, drivers, furry, old, Israeli, coat-or-robe-wearing, long-haired, mustache-wearing, normal, preachers, Spanish, teachers, suitable for children to watch, high-ranking, shades-wearing, cultured, glove-wearing, handicapped, heartbroken, a hot chick in a suit, a woobie, a little girl, pregnant, or drunk.)
• One-Man Army (is an army of many minor characters composited together into a single character.)
• Badass Transplant (transplants minor characters from one composite character to another.)
• Badass Back (Some minor characters turn to face rearward and cover the team's rear, thus allowing force in all directions.)
• Character Development (is pooled from the minor characters into the main character.)
• (Similarly to character development, only a tiny minority of the minor characters wield) an Ancestral Weapon, an Emergency Weapon, an Empathic Weapon, a weapon Forged by the Gods, an Impossibly Cool Weapon, an Improbable Weapon, an Improvised Weapon, a Living Weapon, Named Weapons, Ranged Emergency Weapon, an Unholy Holy Sword, and other weird weapons.
• Too much equipment: Dual-Wielding, BFG, BFS, Extended Disarming, Guns Akimbo, Double Weapon
• Too much longevity: Amusing Injuries, Annoying Arrows, Benign Bullets, Boring Immortal Hero, Disney Death, Plot Armor, Imperial Stormtrooper Marksmanship Academy, Mook Chivalry, Million-to-One Chance, No One Could Survive That, No One Should Survive That, Feel No Pain, Made of Iron, Only a Flesh Wound, Normally I Would Be Dead Now, You Call That a Wound? (do not affect main characters, because only some of the component minor characters are injured. The others fight on, and any casualties can be replaced.)
• Too high rate of fire while still having ordinary accuracy: More Dakka (the moderately accurate shooting of a squad line is concentrated in a single composite character)
• Implausible Fencing Powers (would be plausible if diluted into the entire force of minor characters that are fused into the main character)
• Unrealistic organization: Mildly Military, Oddly Small Organization, I Work Alone (hide realistic organizational dynamics and interpersonal relations inside main characters, and minor characters are shown as fewer, composite characters.)
• Not enough specialization: Omnidisciplinary Scientist, Badass Bookworm, Genius Bruiser, Genius Ditz, Pretty Smart For A Hottie, Minored in Asskicking, Nerves of Steel, Multi Melee Master, Choice of Two Weapons (The main character combines skills and attributes from multiple, specialized, minor characters. The smart component characters do the clean, smart work, while other component characters are sexually attractive and do the sex and violence.)
• Mutually incompatible behaviors: Dating Catwoman, Fatal Attraction, Slap Slap Kiss, Kiss Kiss Slap, Belligerent Sexual Tension, Love Triangle, Love Dodecahedron, The Unwanted Harem, Go-Karting with Bowser (Some minor characters are friendly or date one party, while other minor characters are more strongly opposed or date the other party.)
• Fusion Dance, Evil Twin, Enemy Without, Split Personality Merge, Shadow Archetype, Literal Split Personality, Me's a Crowd, Inner Dialogue, Cloning Blues, Opening a Can of Clones, Ghost in the Machine (result from organizational dynamics inside main characters.)
