1530 B.C.E.

• Unnamed Egyptian Slayer, whose watcher is Meryt-Neith, is killed. A new Slayer is activated in Nubia. (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)

• God tells Moses to lead the Hebrews out of Egypt. Moses and Aaron then take on the sorcerers of pharaoh Thutmosis II in a proxy battle of power between God and Ra, featuring such spectacles as the Nile turning into blood and frogs swarming over Egypt, and culminating in the death of most of the firstborn sons of Egypt. Passover is founded during this time. (Exodus)

1491 B.C.E.

• God emerges victorious over Ra, and Thutmosis II finally agrees to let the Hebrews go. He would have reached this decision much faster if God didn't make him particularly stubborn throughout the time of the plagues. (Exodus)
• Moses and Aaron follow Shekinah towards Canaan, during which Moses parts the Red Sea to allow them through. Thutmosis II changes his mind regarding releasing the Hebrews and gives chase, but the Egyptian army drowns when the Red Sea crashes in around them. (Exodus)
• Israelites continue eastward, relying on God to turn salt water fresh and bring down bread from Heaven. (Exodus)

1491 B.C.E. or 1490 B.C.E.

• Battle between Israelites and Amalekites at Rephidim. Israelites win. (Exodus)
• Moses founds a basic court hierarchy under the advice of Jethro. (Exodus)
• Moses climbs to the top of Mt. Sinai, where God gives him a bunch of rules. When he gets to the bottom, he finds everybody worshipping a golden calf, and in a rage smashes the tablets on which he had written the rules. He has a bunch of the Levites prove their devotion to God by each killing a relative, then climbs back to the summit, where God dictates the rules again. This time, the Israelites behave themselves, and build a special tabernacle to hold the tablets. (Exodus)
• Joshua ben Nun becomes Moses' Sidekick. (Exodus)

1489 B.C.E.

• April 4: Moses conducts a census of the Israelites and forms them into a military force. Levites are appointed to guard the tabernacle. More rules follow. (Numbers)
• Israelites complain about their conditions, inspiring God to kill a bunch of them. (Numbers)
• Miriam and Aaron express jealousy of Moses. God punishes them by giving Miriam a temporary case of leprosy. (Numbers)
• Moses sends 12 spies to scout out Canaan. Two of them, Caleb and Joshua, report that it is a fertile land ripe for the taking. The other ten, fearful of the existing inhabitants, report that it is a bleak desert full of vicious warriors. However, the truth comes out, and God curses the Israelites so that nobody among them under the age of 20 other than Caleb and Joshua can enter Canaan. The ten liars die of sudden leprosy. (Numbers)
• Korah, Dathan, Abiram, and On rebel against Moses. A big chasm opens beneath their feet and swallows them up. (Numbers)
• The rest of the Israelites rebel against Aaron and Moses, accusing them of killing the last group of dissenters. They shut up when Aaron and each of the elders plants their staff of leadership in the ground, and Aaron's blooms the next day. (Numbers)

1488 B.C.E.

• January: Israelites enter Zin. Miriam dies at Kadesh. (Numbers)
• Israelites attempt to pass through Edom, but the king refuses permission. (Numbers)
• Aaron dies, and passes his office to his son, Eleazar. (Numbers)
• Following an initial defeat, the Israelites defeat Arad. (Numbers)

Between 1488 and 1450 B.C.E.

• King Sihon of Amor declares war on the Israelites and is defeated. (Numbers)
• King Og of Bashan declares war on the Israelites and is defeated. (Numbers)
• King Balak of Moab, fearful of Israelite expansion, summons Balaam bin Beor to curse the Israelites, but Balaam blesses them instead. (Numbers)
• Israelites begin worshipping Baal and marrying Moabites, so God sends a plague to kill 24,000 of them that only ends when Phinehas ben Eleazar kills an Israelite who had just married a Midianite woman. (Numbers)
• Moses and Eleazar conduct a second census, and assign the land of Canaan to the Israelites based on the size of each clan. (Numbers)
• Joshua is assigned to be Moses' successor. (Numbers)
