Zhuge Dan
"The Obstinate Dog"

"I must look to take pride in the battles I fight!" |
Voiced by: Takuya Kirimoto (Japanese), Keith Silverstein (English) |
Born: (Unknown)
Died: 258
Japanese spelling: Shoukatsutai
Height: 5'6" (168cm)
Zhuge Dan is a member of Zhuge Liang's family. A serious and upright individual, he has trouble accepting opinions that clash with his own. He is known for opposing Sima Zhao.
- Black Sheep - Zhuge Liang is "The Dragon" while Zhuge Jin is "The Tiger". Dan? "The Dog".
- Butt Monkey/No Respect Guy - Feels he's treated this way in Jin.
- Expy - He looks like he would be much more at home hanging with the Cullen family in Forks.
- Feathered Fan of Doom - Perhaps it runs in the family.
- Perpetual Frowner
- Foe Yay - With Sima Zhao
- Hey It's That Voice - Kirimoto also voices Aiber and Riichi Jinnouchi.
- In English he's Full Frontal & Johan.
- Jerkass - A general that actually harms his allies in his obstinance and is presented as having no redeeming qualities whatsoever.
- Alternate Character Interpretation: An officer loyal to the Emperor who strived to do what he thought right, but could never match up to expectations and snapped from the pressure. It's notable that his defining characteristic in Conquest Mode is Heroic Self-Deprecation.
- He also seemed to be well-respected and fairly considerate of his subordinates while he was serving within Jin's ranks.
- Ron the Death Eater - Has shades of this as a canon example, as he starts as an experienced general who others thought highly of (especially compared to Sima Zhao). Come near the end of Jin's story, he has defected to Wu, taken a level in Jerkassery, and executes one of his own generals for saying that Zhao was the better man compared to him while Zhao himself welcomes any of Dan's men that willingly surrender without any harm.
- Shock and Awe - His first musou
- Showthe Forehead - Has a prominent forehead, accentuated by his sleeked back hair. This was emphasized in Warriors Orochi 3, where the poor guy was made fun by Wang Yuanji, Kaihime and Kunoichi.
- The Starscream - He does not highly regard Sima Zhao. He eventually rebels, joins Wu, and ends up fighting Zhao.
- Taking You With Me - Does this to Sima Zhao by trapping him in a room and setting it ablaze.
- Throw the Dog A Bone: He finally gets some genuine praise from a fellow strategist in Warriors Orochi 3. That fellow strategist? His cousin, Zhuge Liang himself. Made even better when you take the above Black Sheep description into account:
Zhuge Dan: Master Zhuge Liang, I am a talentless dog...I have dirtied the name of our clan... |
Zhong Hui
"The Precocious Strategist"
![](http://static.miraheze.org/allthetropeswiki/4/49/Zhonghui_9554.jpg)
"Let's go! Soon, everything will be ours!" |
Voiced by: Ichitarou Ai (Japanese), Quinton Flynn (English) |
Born: 225
Died: 264
Japanese spelling: Shoukai
Height: 5'9" (175cm)
A young, studious man who has the respectable ability to instantly read the battlefield. However, due to his personal arrogance, there aren't many fellow officers whom trust him. Opposite of Deng Ai in every respect, he has seething resentments for the veteran.
- Bishounen
- Expy - One must wonder if Zhong Hui is going to be spin kicking a lot of people.
- The Fighting Narcissist - He's talented, beautiful, and not afraid to flaunt it:
"I will not lose against dullards". |
- Foe Yay - With Jiang Wei
- Not too surprising considering their subsequent (failed) rebellions against Wei/Jin in the novel after the surrender of Chengdu.
- Form-Fitting Wardrobe
- Hair Flip - Yes, you have pretty hair. Stop touching it.
- Hey It's That Voice - Although it may seem absurd, his English voice is Quinton Flynn. So it's only natural that you want to equip him with the chakrams now. Also, he's formerly a partner with Agumon.
- Ho Yay - With Deng Ai
- Insufferable Genius - None of his talent and learning justifies Hui's sheer arrogance.
- Jerkass - Due to his mountain-sized ego, he tends to be a huge asshole to pretty much everyone who isn't him.
- Quintuple Wielding Improbably - Wields five flying swords.
- The Rival - Considers Deng Ai a rival. Deng Ai doesn't seem to notice.
- Short Hairwith Tail
- Storm of Blades - His musou attacks.
- The Strategist
- The Starscream - His ego was really big that he of course rebelled against Jin shortly after the fall of Shu, as chronicled in the Legend Mode in Xtreme Legends. (In the Story Mode, which concludes with the capitulation of Shu, Zhong Hui has always been a loyal subordinate of Wei/Jin despite his acrimony with Deng Ai). His betrayal also pops up in some legendary missions in the Conquest Mode, such as Wang Yuanji's (since in the novel she predicted it).
- There Is No Kill Like Overkill - Dear Lord His Musou
Guo Huai
"The Sickly Minister"
![](http://static.miraheze.org/allthetropeswiki/3/3b/Guohuai_5377.jpg)
"It's about time I got going." |
Voiced by: Satoru Kamata (Japanese), Dan Woren (English) |
Born: 187
Died: 255
Japanese spelling: Kakuwai
Height: 5'9" (176cm)
Guo Huai rose to prominence under Cao Pi and defended Wei many times from Jiang Wei's advances. He is an individual plagued by illness during the campaigns against Shu. Even with his weakened state, however, he is truly a reliable warrior to have on the battlefront. Loyal to Wei above all else, Guo Huai feels indebted to Xiahou Yuan and Sima Yi.
- Awesome but Impractical - His "Desperado" Musou Attack causes ASSLOADS of damage, but its cooldown time is rather long... And rather depressing to watch...
- Eerie Pale-Skinned Brunette
- Ensemble Darkhorse - Surprisingly very popular in Japan. He is often drawn extremely bishounen.
- Expy - Has an appearance very similar to Kuroda Kanbei.
- To the point where, when the two meet during Warriors Orochi 3, Guo Huai assumes Kanbei is Death himself, finally come for him.
- Gatling Good - His arm cannon provides more dakka than everything else in the series combined.
- Goth - His appearance.
- Ill Man
- Incurable Cough of Death
- An odd example. He's alive throughout a significant portion of the conflict, with his health utterly unchanging, and when he dies, it's due to Annoying Arrows.
- Skunk Stripe - Two of them, in fact.
- The Woobie - You can't help but feel bad for him.
Deng Ai
"The Self Made General"

"At last! I've been waiting for the fight to get started!" |
Voiced by: Masato Obara (Japanese) Christopher Sabat (English) |
Born: (Unknown)
Died: 264
Japanese spelling: Tougai
Height: 6'7" (200cm)
Deng Ai is a Wei general who once acted as a minster in office. After witnessing Sima Yi's intellect, however, he decided to return to the battlefront and watch over the troops during the campaigns against Shu. He has a hobby of looking at maps and, to preserve their accuracy, he is cautious of the war changing the geography.
- The Big Guy
- Captain Ersatz - Looks like Jecht somehow wound himself in Ancient China.
- Drill On A Stick - His weapon is a drill lance.
- Genius Bruiser
- Ho Yay - With Guo Huai and Zhong Hui.
- Mighty Glacier - Deng Ai's Lance weapon set is pretty slow, but powerful and is near guaranteed to cause Guard Break.
- Rated M for Manly - Like Wang Yuanji, amongst Jin's Cast Full of Pretty Boys, Deng Ai is another oddity: he's the only muscular non-Bishonen there.
- Self Made General
- The Stoic
- The Strategist - Specifically, he has a natural talent with placing troops according to the terrain.
- Throw Down the Bomblet- During his first musou.
- Unknown Rival - Zhong Hui
- Wrestler in All of Us - His second musou is an ARMBAR.
Xiahou Ba
"The Baby-Faced Warrior"
![](http://static.miraheze.org/allthetropeswiki/c/c7/Xiahouba_2341.jpg)
"Alright, it's time for me to get a move on, I guess." |
Voiced by: Kenji Akabane (Japanese), Vic Mignogna (English) |
Born: (Unknown)
Died: (Unknown)
Japanese spelling: Kakouha
Height: 5'3" (160cm)
Xiahou Ba is Xiahou Yuan's second son and a military general for both Wei and Jin who ultimately rebelled against Sima Zhao and defected to Shu.
He is a bright young man who inherits his father's integrity and will. To hide his age, he clads himself in full armor. Xiahou Ba is striving hard to live up to the expectations of his reputed family.
- Arch Enemy - Becomes one to all of Jin after he defects for Shu. He usually protects Jiang Wei.
- BFS - It's bigger than he is!
- Big Damn Heroes - When jumping in out of nowhere to save Jiang Wei.
- Bishounen
- Bolivian Army Ending - Nearly got into one in his Legend Mode chapter... until the end where Jiang Wei bailed him out.
- Catch Phrase - "Well well well..."
- Conflicting Loyalty - Torn between his loyalty to his family and Wei. It eventually leads him to flee, fearing for his life after Sima Yi has his relative Cao Shuang killed.
- Deadpan Snarker - Following Wei's collapse he becomes much more sarcastic towards his former allies, responding dryly to all their accusations against him.
- Fan Nickname - "Xiahou Bieber", due to his perceived facial resemblance to Justin Bieber.
- Get It Over With - Says this to Guo Huai before the latter is killed by archers.
- Hey It's That Voice - It's Kouji Kabuto!...well, the one from the new series, anyways. And also he's the PRODUCER! Also in the English version, he was half-Greek and he's formerly a member of a host club.
- Talking to Himself - Vic also voices Jia Xu.
- Ho Yay - With Jiang Wei.
- I Did What I Had to Do - And he's never looking back or regretting his actions.
- Killed Off for Real: By Zhong Hui, no less.
- Like Father Like Son - He was given Yuan's eyes and laid back, playful personality, although Ba is certainly less hot blooded than his dad (which fits his heavier weapon).
- Lovable Traitor
- Older Than They Look - Though he's by no means old.
- Shock and Awe - His Musou attack creates a devastating lightning bolt.
- Twenty Four Hour Armour - Can sometimes be heard complaining about how heavy it is too.
- We Hardly Knew Ye - He defects very early in Jin's Kingdom Mode and then appears a lot as an opponent fighting for Shu.
- Ugly Guys Hot Son - Yuan may not be hideous, but he's no looker either. And damn this kid is gorgeous!
- Lampshaded by Zhang Fei (who ironically has his own attractive child) complaining that Ba bears no resemblance to his father at all.
- Said attractive child is possibly related to Yuan and Ba, no less.
- Lampshaded by Zhang Fei (who ironically has his own attractive child) complaining that Ba bears no resemblance to his father at all.
- You Can't Go Home Again - After his betrayal. This seems to bother him a little, since he feels he's let his father down by siding with the kingdom responsible for his death -- something that Guo Huai in particular strongly holds against him.
